True or False Drivers May Enter an HOV Lane Only at Designated Points But May Exit at Any Time

True or False Drivers May Enter an HOV Lane Only at Designated Points But May Exit at Any Time- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

High-occupancy vehicle lanes or HOV lanes are reserved for use by vehicles having generally two or more occupants or vehicles having special decals. Drivers are only allowed to enter an HOV lane at designated openings. There is a common misconception that drivers can exit the HOV lane at any point where there is a solid white line. A solid white line is sometimes placed to the left of double yellow lines to designate a separation between the preferential lane and regular traffic lanes. However, anytime a double yellow line is present a driver is not permitted to exit the carpool lane except when necessary to yield to an emergency vehicle (Vehicle Code 21655.8). - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

When Are You Most Likely to Be the Target of Speed Detection by Aircraft

When Are You Most Likely to Be the Target of Speed Detection by Aircraft- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Is speed detection by aircraft a thing of the past? This method is still alive and well. In fact just this month a CHP plane tracked a speeding motorcyclist on the Interstate 580 in Oakland and alerted ground units of the motorist’s location and speed (over 100 mph).

So when are you most likely to be the target of a police pilot? On a clear day and in a rural area. Monty Hight, a retired CHP officer, in a “coptalk” article says, generally the aircraft works in clear skies and in rural or open areas where regular enforcement may be hampered. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Popular Methods Used by Police Officers to Try and Catch You Speeding

by Steve Miller on 04-02-2014

Popular Methods Used by Police Officers to Try and Catch You Speeding - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Some of the methods employed by the CHP are radio detection and ranging (radar), light detection and ranging (lidar), speed pacing, and the use of aircraft. On the website of the CHP, pacing is reportedly the very first speed enforcement method taught to new officers. While pacing is clearly a popular method, it is not always practical or perhaps dangerous, in areas such as residential streets, school zones, or narrow winding roads, radar and lidar are used. With over 3,500 radar units reportedly being used statewide as of 2013 you are lot more likely to be caught speeding with radar as opposed to lidar, whereas only about 810 lidar units being used throughout the state. And don’t be surprised if you don’t notice the officer standing on the side of the road when he or she “clocks” you. With approximately 2,900 of the radar units being mounted radar units, it is not uncommon for the officer to catch you while he or she is driving, even in the opposite direction. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Bicycle Riders have to Follow Traffic Laws Too - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Bicycle riders must follow many of the same laws as motorists. They must stop at stop signs and red lights, ride on the proper side of the street, and give the right-of-way to all pedestrians. In addition, it is illegal to ride a bike while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Vehicle code sections 21200 – 21212 also has several laws that apply to the operation of bicycles. Wearing a radio headset is prohibited while riding a bike. The number of people who can ride on a bike is limited to the number of seats and it is against the law to ride on someone’s handlebars or center frame bar or over the rear tire. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Drivers Can Continue to Expect Extra Traffic Enforcement of Cell Phone Violations

Drivers Can Continue to Expect Extra Traffic Enforcement of Cell Phone Violations- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

In 2012, CHP officers issued more than 168,000 citations for handheld cell phone or texting violations statewide. That is an average of 14,000 distracted driving citations a month, reports the CHP.

Drivers can continue to expect extra traffic enforcement through the end of September. The CHP is engaged in a yearlong, grant-funded Adult Distracted Driving traffic safety campaign. By the conclusion of the grant, September 30, 2014, a minimum of 60 distracted driving enforcement operations and at least 500 traffic safety presentations will have been completed statewide. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

by Steve Miller on 03-12-2014

Can you Make a Lane Change in the Middle of an Intersection - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

There is no California vehicle code on point that specifically prohibits changing lanes in an intersection. While you technically CAN change lanes in an intersection the better question is... should you.

There are multiple code sections police officers can use to ticket for unsafe lane movements/changes. If you make a lane change in the middle of an intersection many officers deem this to be an unsafe movement, leading to you being ticketed. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Decline in the Number of Traffic Tickets Being Issued on the Northern CA Coast -this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Sonoma County, CA is seeing a reduction in the number of traffic tickets handed out, down almost 20 percent compared to the previous year. A total of 61,500 tickets were handed out by city police, CHP officers and sheriff's deputies for violations including speeding and failing to stop at a red light, reports pressdemocrat.com. Traffic Court judge, Lawrence Ornell said fewer cases are being set for trial. It is believed the reductions in traffic tickets is related to budget cuts, staff reductions, and less officers out on patrol.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Vehicle GPS Systems Can Trigger Some Tickets but Help Dismiss Others

by Steve Miller on 02-26-2014

Vehicle GPS Systems Can Trigger Some Tickets but Help Dismiss Others - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

GPS devices in vehicles are more common than ever before.

These GPS navigation systems can sometimes be the cause of a ticket. For example, drivers can be issued tickets for mounting a GPS in the wrong place on their windshield. In CA a GPS is restricted to the lowest corners of the windshield.

GPS tracking systems can also provide a court good cause to dismiss a ticket. Tracker devices can record the position and speed of a driver for every second of their route.  GPS trackers themselves may actually be more accurate than a police officer holding a radar gun (because of calibration issues, user error, or blocked view) and if nothing else can help discredit the officer’s notion that you were speeding. There have been reports of more than one ticket being dismissed using this method.

A driver ticketed in Sonoma County was let off the hook after showing driving activity reports from his GPS monitoring systems which he believed showed the judge he was not speeding at the time of the alleged speeding violation (reported by skatter.com). A representative for trackingsystemdirect.com also dismissed a ticket using a Trial by Declaration and including a print out of copies of his driving activity showing he was not speeding (reported by tracking-system.com).- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Citizens Who Paid Invalid Traffic Tickets Not Feeling Peachy in Orange County

by Steve Miller on 02-19-2014

Citizens Who Paid Invalid Traffic Tickets Not Feeling Peachy in Orange County- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Errors in county offices resulted in many residents of Orange County, Florida to receive tickets they never really owed. Even after only a small fraction of citations had been audited by Comptroller Martha Haynie, a significant number of errors were discovered; thousands of citations had gone unaccounted for or had been wrongly sent to random citizens.

Many of these Orange County residents unknowingly paid for the tickets when they received them, not realizing they were covering someone else’s bill. Comptroller Haynie, however, did not investigate as a result of any public outcry, but instead when she noticed an alarmingly high work load on county officials in Tennessee. Her investigations have exposed poor communication between Orange County Clerk and Sheriff Offices as a leading cause of the discrepancies. Technology will be implemented will be minimizing mistakes from this point on in the county offices.

As certain citizens will likely feel wronged and violated by their local governments for the lucrative “mistakes,” refunds remain uncertain. But it will definitely put motorists in the county on higher alert if they ever receive a dubious ticket in the mail. Although citizens all over the country are usually overwhelmed by their everyday lives, the first response to receiving a ticket for a violation you did not commit should never be to “just pay it.” - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Colorado Springs Forth Traffic Ticket Quota Scandal

by Steve Miller on 02-12-2014

Colorado Springs Forth Traffic Ticket Quota Scandal-this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Among the most common responses most motorists have when they feel they have received a ticket unjustly is that the ticketing agency is simply fulfilling their required quota. This claim from motorists has been continuously debunked upon investigations throughout California, however, the City of Colorado Springs in Colorado has seemingly been caught up in a scandal where a couple of officers  in the department have come forward to expose the truth behind a real ticket quota in the city.

Local news agencies are reporting that now an investigation is underway to determine the veracity of the claims from the officers who came forward. If proven to be true, the implications would be numerous and appalling. In order to execute a ticket quota, officer must have issued several questionable citations and likely failed to respond to serious emergency calls under pressure to fulfill the quota, not to mention the questionable and unconstitutional morality behind charging citizens with crimes they never committed.

This series of events in one of our nearby states will certainly put any local police departments that are secretly use ticket quotas on alert to abandon the practice and will also likely discourage any future practice from taking place. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Two Tickets and Traffic School Only Allowed for One What to Do

by Steve Miller on 02-05-2014

Two Tickets and Traffic School Only Allowed for One What to Do - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If a series of unfortunate events leaves you holding multiple tickets and only one shot at traffic school, you are not alone.

There are millions of traffic tickets issued in California annually and it’s not uncommon for a driver to get ticketed more than once in a single 18 month period.

You should consider the circumstances surrounding each ticket as this may help you with your traffic school dilemma as well. You may find you have a really good excuse or defense for one ticket versus another and feel more confident to contest it. Although if you have two tickets, rather than pick one to fight and one for traffic school, try and fight both first and then think about traffic school if you’re found guilty on one. You can even fight each of your tickets in writing using a Trial by Written Declaration so you don’t have to appear in court multiple times.

If are dead-set on taking traffic school right away, gather your tickets and determine how many “points” each violation you were cited for carries. You can search the CA DMV website for Common California Vehicle Code Violations Used in Negligent Operator Count. Any “zero point” violations can be eliminated as there is no need to take traffic school for these. Any 2 point violations can be eliminated as well because the court will generally not allow traffic school for these more “serious offenses.”

Should you have multiple 1 point violations it is a good idea to compare the fine amounts for each and to take traffic school for the least expensive ticket and consider contesting the more expensive ticket because you have a chance to have it dismissed completely or at least reduced. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

California Traffic Laws Applicable to Highways Also Extend to Streets

by Steve Miller on 01-29-2014

California Traffic Laws Applicable to Highways Also Extend to Streets - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

True or False. When California traffic laws refer to a highway it means the rule only applies when driving on a freeway?

False! This is a fairly common misconception. In actuality ‘highway’ refers to freeways in addition to other roads or streets. The California Vehicle Code (encyclopedia of all the traffic rules) even has a glossary of terms and defines ‘highway’ as a public place or way meant for vehicular travel, including a street.

So remember, unless a traffic rule discloses it is only applicable to vehicles traveling on a freeway, you are most likely required to follow the same rule whether on freeway or on any other public road or street. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If You Only Count on the Flow of Traffic to Gauge the Proper Speed You Can Count on a Ticket

If You Only Count on the Flow of Traffic to Gauge the Proper Speed You Can Count on a Ticket- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

“But officer, I was just following the flow of traffic.”

DMV.org user poll revealed many felt “moving with the flow of traffic won’t land you a speeding ticket.” But after speaking with ex-police officers, this was found to be a myth.

If you don’t know the speed limit for the California highway you are driving on, you are better off counting the number of lanes rather than counting on the flow of traffic:

  1. If only two 55 will do: On a two-lane (one in each direction) undivided highway stick to 55 mph unless otherwise posted.
  2. If no other sign 65 is probably fine: Unless you see a sign posted stating otherwise, the usual speed limit for a highways (besides two-lane undivided) is 65 mph.
  3. Unless it’s more don’t step on the accelerator: There are a few rural highways with a higher limit but you shouldn’t assume. You are responsible for maintaining the 65 mph limit unless you see it posted higher.

Posting Bail for a Traffic Ticket

by Steve Miller on 01-15-2014

Posting Bail for a Traffic Ticket - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you have received a traffic ticket you have options beside just paying or opting for traffic school. In many cases you will not have to make an initial appearance in court. If you plan to request for a court trial without appearing for your arraignment you will need to “post bail” first. Similarly if you wish to contest your ticket without appearing for an arraignment or a trial, you can request a Trial by Written Declaration but you will still need to post bail (pay the fine amount upfront and it will be refunded to you if the court dismisses your ticket).

When posting bail never mail cash, you will have no proof if the court says they never received it. You also cannot pay your bail online with a credit card because it most cases your case will be closed out. Online Credit Card payments to the court should only be made when just paying your ticket with no plans to fight it. When it comes to posting bail the usual solution is to send a check or money order. Checks are preferable so that you can easily check with your bank to verify if the court received and cashed your check. When sending a check be aware that many courts will not accept temporary checks or checks without the name of the account holder. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

A Challenge To The Legality Of Red Light Cameras Recently Rejected By CA Supreme Court - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

A man's challenge to the legality of California's red-light cameras was recently rejected by the California Supreme Court. LAweekly.com reported that Howard Herships' case challenged two red-light tickets he received in Rancho Cordova. Arizona-based red-light ticket contractor, Redflex Traffic Systems operates the cameras that generated Herships tickets. Herships argued red light cameras don't allow you to have a fair day in court and that the statutes is unconstitutional because of the presumption that a computer generated picture is accurate. He says the statute shifts the burden of proof to the criminal defendant at trial to prove otherwise. Although California’s highest panel of justices said no to his request to stay and correct the law, Herships told LAweekly.com  he plans to take this all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Automated Traffic Enforcement is on the Rise in Some Areas

Automated Traffic Enforcement is on the Rise in Some Areas - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Speed and red light cameras are a type of automated enforcement technology used to detect and deter speeders and red light runners. Some jurisdictions like California use similar technology for other traffic violations, such as illegal rail crossings. The use of automated enforcement may be on the decline in California but elsewhere in the U.S. is on the rise. Take Washington D.C. for example where automated enforcement is being used to ticket for just about everything including failing to yield to a pedestrian and blocking an intersection or gridlock.

Drivers in D.C. will soon begin receiving tickets from more than 100 new traffic cameras that can catch more than speeders, according to NBC4 Washington. The new cameras can detect drivers who are not stopping at a stop sign or for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Some are monitoring cars that "block the box," meaning they stop in the middle of an intersection, causing gridlock.- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

What the Trial Date Listed on a Court Website Means

by Steve Miller on 12-26-2013

What the “Trial Date” Listed on a Court Website Means - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you are fighting a traffic ticket via the Trial by Written Declaration process in Los Angeles County, you may be surprised to see a “Trial Date” set on the court website when you look up the status of your citation online. Did you know that although the date on the court website of your ticket says “trial date” it doesn’t mean that you actually have to physically “appear” in court that day? It is not a court date, rather it is just the day your trial by written declaration as well as the officer’s declaration will be reviewed by the judge. It says trial date because as the name implies, the trial by declaration is also a trial.

Most traffic tickets (such as failure to stop for a red light, failure to stop for a stop sign, exceeding the speed limit, carpool  lane violation tickets, etc.) do not actually require that you make a physical appearance in court at all, which allows you to handle the ticket by mail, online, or over the phone. And for tickets that do require an actual physical appearance in court (such as tickets for driving over 100 mph) you will be notified by the court.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Change in Law Applies to Drivers Who Receive Red Light Camera Tickets Next Year

by Steve Miller on 12-18-2013

Change in Law Applies to Drivers Who Receive Red Light Camera Tickets Next Year - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you receive a red light camera ticket in 2014 be sure to check the intersection for camera enforcement signs. By January 1, 2014 all intersections where cameras are in use to catch traffic violators must be identified by signage posted within a certain number of feet from the intersection.

Vehicle Code 21455.5 says signs shall be posted within 200 feet of an intersection where a system is operating that clearly indicate the system's presence and are visible to traffic approaching from all directions in which the automated traffic enforcement system is being utilized to issue citations. Signs are not required to be visible to traffic approaching the intersection from directions not subject to the automated traffic enforcement system.

If you do not see signs posted or you measure and find they are too far away, document proof of your findings and take photos right away, you might be able to convince a judge to throw out your ticket. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Red light Cameras may have many motorists in California driving scared, but motorists do not have to worry about receiving a camera ticket in the mail for speeding. The proposal to legalize speed cameras in California failed in 2011.  Elsewhere is the U.S. there are 12 states that have passed laws which prohibit (with very narrow exceptions) the use of speed cameras. 29 states have no law addressing speed cameras. A few states permit the use of speed cameras, like Washington D.C., where speed detection cameras might even be disguised like mailboxes and trash containers to catch unsuspecting motorists. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

How to Avoid a Costly Traffic Ticket

by Steve Miller on 12-04-2013

How to Avoid a Costly Traffic Ticket - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

A ticket for failing to yield to a school bus can cost you almost $700, not to mention the likely insurance rate hike once the ticket is reported to the DMV. There are some basic rules to remember when it comes to passing a school bus so you can avoid getting stuck with an expensive ticket:

According to the California School Employees Association, studies have shown that the most dangerous part of a school bus ride is when the students are getting on and off of the bus. The CHP encourages motorists to pay attention to school buses when bus warning lights are flashing. In California, flashing yellow lights on a school bus are a warning to slow down and prepare to stop. Flashing red lights and the extended stop arm require all motorists to stop for children entering and exiting the bus and crossing the street.

The stopping requirements apply when approaching a school bus from the rear and also when approaching a bus stopped on the opposite side of a single lane road (only one lane of travel for each direction). If there are two or more lanes of travel in each direction however, the driver is not required to stop for a bus stopped on the opposite side of the road. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Electronic Ticketing System Tied to Decline in Officer Issued Tickets

Electronic Ticketing System Tied to Decline in Officer Issued Tickets - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

More than two years after Kansas City patrol officers swapped their paper ticket books for electronic devices, they’re handing out a lot fewer tickets (kansascity.com).

While not solely to blame, since the e-ticketing system went live in August 2011, citations now total about 175,000 tickets per year, compared with more than 260,000 tickets issued in 2010.

For officers in the field, trying to issue a speeding or careless driving ticket can be difficult. Since they now relay data using a hand-held device or mobile car device with a cell signal, connectivity remains a constant challenge.

Officers frequently start to write a ticket but find they can’t get a cell connection, may not be as comfortable with the devices, and when the cell connection is weak and the system freezes, they’re apt to just issue a warning rather than make the motorist wait. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Speeding Tickets A Billion Dollar Industry

by Steve Miller on 11-20-2013

Speeding Tickets A Billion Dollar Industry - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

A substantial proportion of the driving population polled in a National Survey of Speeding and Unsafe Driving Attitudes by the NHTSA (National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration) indicates a tendency for speed. The survey asked drivers to rate their personal agreement with six statements about their driving. At least three in ten drivers agree strongly or somewhat with each of the six statements below:

  • I often get impatient with slow drivers (53% agree strongly or somewhat).
  • I worry a lot about having a crash (46%).
  • I enjoy the feeling of driving fast (34%).
  • I tend to pass other cars more often than they pass me (30%)
  • The faster I drive the more alert I am (30%)
  •  I try to get where I am going as fast as I can (30%)

Considering the various reasons that motivate a motorist to speed, it makes sense that speeding tickets would make up more than half of all types of tickets issued by police officers. Factoring in data from 40 states that report speeding revenue, Richard Diamond managing editor at the Washington Times and  advocate for drivers,  estimates that speeding ticket revenue generates about $2 billion annually in the U.S. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Never Mistake a Double Yellow Line for a Divider it is a Sure Way to Get Ticketed-  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

California Vehicle Code Section 21460 outlines the laws prohibiting the crossing of double yellow and double white lines in California. The code discusses that there are various exceptions which apply to when double yellow or double white lines can be crossed.

A double yellow line (1 set of 2 lines) should not be confused with “double-double” yellow lines (2 sets of 2 lines with at least 2 feet of space in between each set). A “double-double” is considered a barrier which may not be driven over at any time unless there is an opening in the dividing section. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

When You Are Pulled Over for Speeding

When You Are Pulled Over for Speeding- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you plan to contest your speeding ticket you need to first know what method the officer used to clock your speed. During the course of the traffic stop, try to figure out how the officer clocked your speed and note where the officer was when you first saw him or her. The officer may mention the manner in which you were clocked, such as that you were followed, or that another officer (partner) clocked you. It may also say on the ticket the officer hands to you.

On most tickets there is a box that says radar and the officer will check this off or indicate that laser, a pacing method or even an airplane, was used to clock your speed. If the officer just followed you (bumper pace) you should try to take note of how long the officer followed you or if he just came out of nowhere and caught up to you very quickly. Once you have determined the method used to clock your speed you can get to work researching the limitations and errors that can occur with that method and find which apply to your situation. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If operating a motorized wheelchair along or on a highway are you required to obey the same laws that apply to motor vehicles, bicycles, or pedestrians? In California a motor vehicle does not include a self-propelled wheelchair, motorized tricycle, or motorized quadricycle, if operated by a person who, by reason of physical disability, is otherwise unable to move about as a pedestrian (section 415 (b).) Additionally, “Pedestrian” includes a person who is operating a self-propelled wheelchair, motorized tricycle, or motorized quadricycle and, by reason of physical disability, is otherwise unable to move about as a pedestrian ( section 467).  If you receive a ticket as a pedestrian you have the same options/rights to contest your ticket as a driver.- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

No Cell Phone Use Allowed for Teen Drivers Even if Hands Free

by Steve Miller on 10-16-2013

No Cell Phone Use Allowed for Teen Drivers Even if Hands Free - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Nationwide statistics for teenage drivers by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration show driver cell phone use is higher among younger (age 16 -24) drivers than older drivers, and that three in five young drivers will answer calls. California law prohibits a driver under the age of 18 from using a wireless telephone, even if it is equipped for hands free use. There is a limited use exception in the event the teen driver is using the phone for an emergency purpose.

If your teen driver gets ticket you may have to make a trip down to the courthouse with them. Most courts require a minor to make an appearance in court if they get a ticket and in that case the minor’s parent or guardian is required to appear as well. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Fighting Overall Length Tickets for Commercial Drivers

by Steve Miller on 10-08-2013

Fighting Overall Length Tickets for Commercial Drivers - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Depending on their job type and duties, many commercial drivers drive company owned trucks and haul pre-loaded trailers. Often times the commercial driver does not have the opportunity to measure the length of the trailer themselves and do not find out until reaching an inspection facility that the trailer length is greater than the legal limit. A ticket for non compliance with maximum length and load standards will not add a point to a driver’s record but with a ticket price of over $200.00, many commercial drivers may wish to make a request for the ticket to be transferred to the owner of the vehicle for those vehicles that are registered in California.

The CHP 279 form (http://www.chp.ca.gov/publications/pdf/chp279.pdf) can be completed and presented to an officer when a driver desires for the company to be charged for certain violations of the Vehicle Code that are not solely the responsibility of the non-owner driver such as size, weight, load, mechanical, and registration. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Red Light Tickets Can Cause Insurance Premiums to Soar

by Steve Miller on 10-02-2013

Red Light Tickets Can Cause Insurance Premiums to Soar- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

An Insurance.com analysis of rates found that even one moving violation could cause one's insurance costs to increase greatly. Further, just three such violations can increase rates by 50 percent. The website analyzed the insurance costs for drivers who bought a one-car, one-driver policy and found that the average annual premium for those with no moving violations - which can include red light camera tickets - was $1,119. After just one ticket, that number increased 18 percent to $1,318; after two it increased 34 percent to $1,497; and three moving violations on the record of the sampled drivers resulted in a 53 percent increase to annual premiums, meaning these motorists had to pay $1,713 each year!  Insurance.com found that citations for running a red light can cause premiums to soar. Due to this fact, it is important that red light camera tickets and other violations are fought to not only protect one's money in the short-term, but in the long-term as well. Those who have a red light camera ticket may want to fight it and California allows trial by written declaration (you do not even need to be in court to contest the citation). - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Signing a citation is merely your promise to appear in court for a violation. Your signature is not an admission of guilt. Only a judge can make a determination of guilt. When a person refuses to sign a citation an arrest may ensue. This may involve being held overnight or during the weekend until court is next in session. If you don’t agree with a ticket you have the opportunity to plead not guilty and request a trial on or before the due date listed on the ticket. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

CHP Boosts Inspection of Defective Brake Systems in Commercial Vehicles

by Steve Miller on 09-19-2013

CHP Boosts Inspection of Defective Brake Systems in Commercial Vehicles- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Defective brake systems in commercial vehicles constitute a major reason why these vehicles are placed out of service, says California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The CHP conducts more than 500,000 commercial vehicle inspections annually. These vehicle inspections, conducted both on-highway and off by the CHP, help ensure commercial vehicle owners and operators are in compliance with state law. CHP observed “Brake Safety Awareness Week” September 8 – 14, 2013, to promote commercial vehicle brake safety.

California Law requires all brakes to be maintained in good condition and in good working order. A violation of this law can cost around $200 and the violation also carries a point. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Stop Sign Tickets: Where do we Draw the (Limit) Line

by Steve Miller on 09-12-2013

Stop Sign Tickets: Where do we Draw the (Limit) Line - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If the nose of your vehicle passed the limit line for the stop sign before you stopped, but your tires are behind the limit line did you technically violate the law?

Vehicle Code section 22450 requires a driver to stop at a limit line if one is marked. If no limit line is marked, the driver must stop before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection. If there, is neither limit line nor crosswalk, the driver must stop at the entrance to the intersecting roadway.

Many motorists question whether a vehicle must be stopped before the nose is past the limit line or before the front tires are past the limit line.

The Appellate Division of the San Bernardino County Superior Court issued a Per Curiam decision addressing this very question and concluded that the legislature intended for a vehicle to stop when its front bumper (not front tires) reached a limit line for a stop sign and noted it is particularly true because vehicles vary greatly in length (People v. Binkowski, 2007). - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Speed Limit While Passing Another Vehicle

by Steve Miller on 09-05-2013

Speed Limit While Passing Another Vehicle -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Every wondered if it’s ok to go faster while you are passing? Hanfordsenteniel.com article by Officer Ken Antonetti provides “Tips from Chips to answer this question:

We’ve all been in the scenario where the speed limit is 55 miles per hour and the vehicle in front of you is traveling at 50 miles per hour. How fast can you travel to pass the vehicle and not be in violation of the law?

What if I’m in the midst of passing and there’s another car approaching from the opposite direction? Can I speed up to avoid a collision?

If you are passing another vehicle and realize you don’t have enough time to safely pass without “flooring” the accelerator to get around, there’s more than just one violation taking place (speed and passing with insufficient clearance).

Here are a few Tips from CHiPs regarding speed and passing:

1. Prior to starting a pass, it is imperative you make sure it is safe. Make sure you have enough time and distance to make the pass without being a danger to oncoming traffic.

2. If you start to pass and realize you won’t have enough time to safely pass the other vehicle at your current speed, the safest thing to do is apply the brakes and get back behind the other vehicle. It is not worth risking your life, or the lives of others to pass a vehicle.

3. Remember, speed kills. The force of a crash is increased exponentially the faster you travel, so make sure you are traveling at the speed limit at all times.

Speeding up when passing is a common practice. That’s why it is extremely important to stay off your cell phone and limit distractions while driving. If you’re paying attention behind the wheel, you will be more likely to observe another motorist doing something dangerous (such as passing with insufficient clearance) and have more time and distance to react appropriately to avoid a collision. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Speeding Ticket Excuse That Led to an Arrest

Speeding Ticket Excuse That Led to an Arrest - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Police officers have heard just about every excuse there is when it comes to a driver trying to get out a speeding ticket. Officers ignore most poor excuses, but some excuses can you into more trouble than just a simple speeding ticket.

Woman who lied to a police officer about her father’s health to try to get out of a speeding ticket is now facing charges. As reported by WMUR Hew Hampshire News 9, police said Carley Williams, 28, claimed she was hurrying to see her dying father at a hospital, but when the officer checked, he found that wasn't the case.

Police said the trooper clocked her at 82 mph.  Police said Williams claimed her father was dying and she was racing to Catholic Medical Center in Manchester to be by his side. Officials said her story was convincing.

"The trooper, using his best roadside discretion was looking to maintain public safety but at the same time appealing to the emotional needs of Miss Williams," Lt. Christopher Wagner said. "He took down the basic information, and he sent her on her way."

But when the trooper tried to verify Williams' story, he learned that her father has been dead since 2008, police said. He also learned that the license plates on the car she was driving were suspended.

The trooper went to Williams' home with a copy of her father's obituary and arrested her. She was charged with driving after suspension of registration and speeding.

"Honesty up front is your best policy and for people to drive safe and be careful out there," Wagner said. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

New Process Designed to Cut Down Court Time for Traffic Tickets-this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Courts are overburdened and looking for ways to reduce court time especially when it comes to traffic tickets. Many courts no longer provide telephone operators for those needing help with traffic tickets.  The Los Angeles court system has undergone major re-consolidation, court closures, and staff reduction. It is not only California courts that are struggling. 36th district courts in Detroit are trying a new process designed to cut down court time for traffic ticket cases.

As reported by Myfoxdetroit.com, the pre-hearing docket kicks off next week in Detroit. It lets ticketed motorists meet with police representatives who will review driving records to determine if reduced pleas can be offered. Motorists who accept the pleas then can pay reduced tickets in the courthouse. Hearings will be scheduled for motorists who turn down reduced pleas. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Driver Behaving Badly During Traffic Stop Gets More Than a Speeding Ticket

Driver Behaving Badly During Traffic Stop Gets More Than a Speeding Ticket- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

TicketHitMan.com has several recommendations for how to act during a traffic stop for a speeding ticket including: remaining calm with hands on the steering wheel, having passengers remain silent, turning on interior light if it is dark out, telling the officer what you are reaching for before reaching and asking permission, and the list goes on. Just as important is knowing what 'not to do' during a traffic stop. How you handle yourself during a traffic stop may dictate whether you get a warning or not and how serious an offense the officer will decide to charge you with. Reported by Fox19.com, a man upset after getting a speeding ticket was jailed Sunday morning after he turned his car around and rammed a police car.  This driver’s behavior during the traffic stop caused him to be charged with aggravated assault instead of a simple speeding ticket. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

How to Clear Your Driving Record After a Traffic Ticket-  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

It’s been said “time heals all wounds”. Time heals your driving record too. Most traffic violations add one point or more to your driving record in California. Traffic school will result in the violation being held a “confidential conviction” by the DMV however it will still be on your record.

There are ways to clear your criminal record through a process called an expungement however this only works for qualifying misdemeanors and infractions. Unfortunately, there is no way to remove a traffic violation from your driving record. Only time will clear up your record once a traffic violation has been added. Typically your driving record will clear in 3 years, but in some cases it can take 7-10 years. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

When There Are Five Behind Move Out of Line To Avoid A Ticket

When There Are Five Behind Move Out of Line To Avoid A Ticket- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The next time you are cruising along a scenic two- lane highway (one lane in either direction) remember when there are five behind, it’s time to move out of line. It’s the law.

According to California Vehicle Code 21656, when you are driving on a two-lane highway and passing is unsafe because of traffic in the opposite direction or other conditions, a slow-moving vehicle, behind which five or more vehicles are formed in line, shall turn off the roadway at the nearest place designated as a turnout or wherever sufficient area for a safe turnout exists, in order to permit the vehicles following it to proceed. As used in this section a slow-moving vehicle is one which is proceeding at a rate of speed less than the normal flow of traffic at the particular time and place. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Drivers Believe They Can Drive Seven to Eight MPH Above Limit Before Being Ticketed

Drivers Believe They Can Drive Seven to Eight MPH Above Limit Before Being Ticketed - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Data from studies undertaken by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to better understand drivers’ behaviors and attitudes regarding speeding, unsafe driving, distracted and drowsy driving (NHTSA Survey of Speeding and Unsafe Driving Attitudes and Behaviors: 2002, Vol. II) revealed that drivers seem to believe that they can drive about 7-8 mph over the posted speed before they will be ticketed. Before deciding that driving above the limit is allowable, consider that TicketHitMan.com has helped tens- of – thousands of drivers with speeding tickets and we have seen that drivers are often ticketed for driving 7-8 mph over the posted limit, or even less!  Speeding tickets can often be successfully contested though. One method is to prove the officer incorrectly estimated your speed by using a speed measurement device which lacked proper calibration. Another method is to show the officer did not have a clear line of sight to your vehicle in order to make an accurate estimate, supplemented by witness statements, diagrams, or photographs. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Bicyclists Can Receive Traffic Tickets Too

by Steve Miller on 07-03-2013

Bicyclists Can Receive Traffic Tickets Too - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

While riding your bicycle many places require you to follow the rules of the road just like if you were driving a car, including stopping at red lights and stop signs.

Toronto Sun reports, a bicyclist received a ticket while riding her bike to work at City Hall. The ticket accused the bicyclist of rolling through a stop sign.  The bicyclist, facing a $110 fine, claims to be “fighting it”.

In California bicyclists are required to abide by the California Vehicle Code and may receive tickets with hefty fines for failing to obey the rules of the road. The California DMV does not assign points (for purposes of being deemed a negligent operator) for violations received on foot or on bike. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

According to a study, the type of car you drive may have some correlation to how many speeding tickets and other moving violations you receive.

AOL Autos ran a story on the types of vehicle that drivers were least likely to be ticketed in. The study was conducted by Quality Planning based on data gathered over the course of one year with a sample size of almost 2 million vehicles.

A sampling of the vehicles judged to be least ticketed include:

  • Buick Lucerne
  • GMC Sierra
  • Jaguar XJ Sedan
  • Chevy Suburban
  • Chevy Tahoe
  • Mazda 6

Driver has Heart Attack and Gets Three Tickets

by Steve Miller on 06-19-2013

Driver has Heart Attack and Gets Three  Tickets - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Here at TicketHitMan.com, we have helped so many drivers with their traffic tickets, that over the years we have heard some bizarre reasons as to why drivers were given tickets. Recently we came across a story that took even us by surprise…. a driver getting ticketed after having a heart attack. Here’s the story that Asbury Park Press recently published:

Though Dan Langley had a heart attack while driving in Spring Lake Heights that did not stop a police officer from giving him three traffic tickets.

A little more than a week after the April 1 heart attack, which led to a minor traffic accident, Langley, a 20-year-old Wall resident, received the tickets in the mail. When he went to the Spring Lake Heights Municipal Court to fight them, he and his family figured a doctor’s note would help convince the local prosecutor or judge to dismiss the summonses.

“Please forgive Mr. Langley’s tickets due to his unfortunate experience of having a heart attack seconds prior to his car accident,” stated the note from Dr. Harold Cotler of Wall.

The result? Two tickets were dismissed, but a third was only downgraded — to a $133 fine. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Are You More Likely to Get a Ticket Driving Through California Than Other States - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The National Motorists Association ranked the US states from worst to best states as far as traffic laws and enforcement. Factors considered included: number of speed traps, speed limits, use of red light cameras, use of speed cameras, cell phone use while driving bans, radar detector allowance, whether jury trial or trial by written declaration is allowed to contest a traffic ticket, and much more.

California has some of the toughest penalties and strictest enforcement for traffic violators in the country, ranking 14 out of 50 on The National Motorists Association list. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Police engage in extra enforcement on holidays and holiday weekends so if you are traveling during those times it pays to be extra cautious behind the wheel. This past memorial day weekend, the CHP was out in full enforcement and in Riverside County alone, the CHP issued about 235 traffic ticket for everything from speeding to failing to wear as seatbelt, as reported by the Southwest Riverside New Network.

This extra enforcement coincided with the extra seatbelt enforcement (Click it or Ticket campaign) already underway, which ends June 2, 2013.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Fighting a Failure to Obey Sign Ticket and How to Prepare

Fighting a Failure to Obey Sign Ticket and How to Prepare- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

You got a ticket for a stop sign, a no turn sign, or other type of sign, and decided you want to fight it. A good starting point is to return to the location of the ticket. Take a camera, a pad, and pen with you. If you can’t find the sign the officer says you failed to obey, take lots of pictures including street signs so the judge can clearly see there is no sign. If you do find a sign posted, look for things that could have caused the sign to be obstructed like overgrown trees, tall parked vehicles, graffiti, or maybe it was dark when you got the ticket and there is no streetlight. If you do find something that could have hidden the sign, make sure to document it well. Take lots of pictures and sketch a diagram for the judge showing your position in relation to the sign and any obstructions.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

What to Avoid When You Get Pulled Over- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

For the vast majority getting at least one traffic ticket is inevitable, even for the most careful driver! Getting pulled over for the first time can be an unsettling experience and you just want the traffic stop to be over so you can get on your way. Avoiding certain things can help the traffic stop go smoothly:

  • Avoid quickly reaching for items in your glove-box without notifying the officer and asking permission
  • Avoid making yourself memorable by being uncooperative
  • Avoid keeping your interior light off if its dark outside
  • Avoid offering potentially incriminating information, wait for the officer to ask you the information needed to write the ticket
  • Avoid telling the officer know you plan to fight the ticket given to you

Wil put all of his ticket information online, it was electronically submitted to a TicketHitMan.com ticket experts who took the facts of his case, together with their own independent research about the violation he was cited for, and prepared all the documents Wil needed to contest his ticket in court by trial by written declaration.

TicketHitMan.com ticket consultants have the experience of having handled over 70,000 tickets resulting in thousands upon thousands of dismissals. With help from TicketHitMan.com Wil received a refund from the court, didn’t have to appear in court, and didn’t have to prepare and file his own case documents in order to have his case dismissed. Bicyclist Gets Ticketed for Failing to Stop

by Steve Miller on 05-07-2013

Bicyclist Gets Ticketed for Failing to Stop - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

"I was just riding my bicycle," Elswick an Orange County Florida man told the court. Local News Click Orlando reported the man received two traffic tickets while riding his bike. The man claimed it was the first time he'd been on a bicycle in decades and did not know that the same laws apply to both bicycles and motor vehicles. Elswick was found guilty for failing to stop at a stop sign and forced to pay the $164 fine plus $33 for court costs

California law gives those riding bicycles on roadways all the same rights as a driver of a motor vehicle, but also makes bicyclists responsible for the same laws a driver of a motor vehicle must follow (expect those which by their very nature can only be applicable to a motor vehicle, tinted windows for example). This means bicyclists must stop for stop signs, stop for red lights, yield for pedestrians, not ride while under the influence of alcoholic beverages or drugs, etc. The CA DMV will generally not assign a point to your motor vehicle record for a ticket you receive as  bicyclist but the ticket will cost you just as much as if you have been driving a car and the offense will be recorded.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

District Attorney Gives Opinion on Recent Appellate Court Distracted Driving Ruling- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Fresno Appellate Court recently ruled that holding a phone in hand while driving is illegal even if you are not talking.  As reported by the San Francisco Appeal, San Francisco District Attorney Gascon feels that ruling has a tremendous impact on how authorities target distracted drivers.

Additionally, new bill may stiffen California’s distracted driving laws if passed. California recently amended its hands free laws to allow for a driver to use voice activated texting while driving, but Assembly Bill 313 would remove the exemptions for voice-operated and hands-free text messaging. The bill was initially rejected by the Transportation Committee, but recently reconsidered and approved by the panel. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

OnGoing Protest to New Red Light Camera Bill Dubbed The Devils Bill- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

AB666 (Wieckowski) rewrites the statutory scheme relating to the how Red light Camera tickets are prosecuted, making them administrative tickets, and eliminating certain rights to contesting such ticket through the courts.

As posted by StopAB666.com (founded by Jay Beeber, an opponent of the AB666):

“This bill was the brain child of the for-profit camera companies (one of which was kicked out of Chicago for bribery and is currently the subject of a wide ranging Federal corruption probe) who spend millions of dollars lobbying to get the law changed for their advantage. Money, by the way, which they got from tickets paid by California citizens. And then they have the nerve to claim that it’s all about safety. This is one of the worst examples of corporations hijacking the political system we have seen in a long time. Don’t be fooled. Speeding Ticket Where Officer Visualized Speed Dismissed

Speeding Ticket Where Officer Visualized Speed Dismissed -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Who doesn’t love to hear good ticket dismissal story!

After being ticketed by CHP Pat went to www.tickethitman.com and filled out all his ticket information online. Pat’s ticket info was electronically submitted to TicketHitMan.com ticket experts who began working on Pat’s case and preparing his court documents called Trial by Written Declaration. Pat did not have to appear in court for the Trial by Written Declaration and the documents prepared by the TicketHitMan.com team pointed out flaws in the officer’s case. The officer had only visualized Pat’s speed and had not verified by using radar or any other method. The officer also was unable to tell the exact speed Pat was traveling and just gave a broad approximation. Pat had been towing a trailer in the slow lane and was even being passed by other vehicles. In addition, the officer had verbally stated he estimated his speed over the course of a mere 18 seconds! All signs pointed to the officer’s account of Pat’s speed being wrong and the court agreed, dismissing Pat’s ticket after reviewing his Trial by Written Declaration prepared by the TicketHitMan.com team and sent to court on his behalf.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

How Often do Car Insurance Companies check a DMV Report

by Steve Miller on 04-02-2013

How Often do Car Insurance Companies check a DMV Report- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The DMV record is a primary tool that car insurance companies use to determine car insurance premiums but it costs time and money to do this so some insurance companies may not check that often. If the insurance company does not check regularly, you might get lucky and they may not know you got a traffic ticket.

According to InsuranceQuotes.com survey,  insurance and risk management consultant, Dan Weedin, says drivers who never file a claim and who maintain a clean driving record for at least 10 years often go undetected when they get a traffic ticket! As a caveat, the report by InsuranceQuotes.com also notes an exception. According to the report, Kevin Lynch, former insurance agent and assistant professor of insurance at the American College in Pennsylvania, if you’re between the ages of 16 – 25, your insurance company will most likely be checking the DMV report every 6 months.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Although the state of California allows red light camera enforcement, the states does not allow speed camera enforcement. A few of the states that do allow speed camera enforcement include Washington, Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, and Ohio.

The legality of red light cameras have been under attack for a while, and now the legality of speed cameras are under attack. Some Open Container Tickets Can be Fought Without Appearing in Court

Some Open Container Tickets Can be Fought Without Appearing in Court - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you received a ticket for driving with an open container you may be concerned that you will have to appear in court with no defense. However driving with open container of alcohol tickets are often treated as an infraction offense and punishable by $250 - $300 fine. Infractions not misdemeanors can be contested without having to show up in court and face the officer who ticketed you through California Trial by Written Declaration. This better option gives you the advantage of being able to submit your side of the story and any defense you might have in writing to the judge and make a plea for dismissal.  Possible defenses that can be used include proving the container was still sealed, proving the officer didn’t have probable cause to pull you over in first place and search your car to find the open container, proving you were driving in a taxi/bus/limo, proving the open container was in the trunk. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Another City Losing the Red Light Cameras

by Steve Miller on 03-12-2013

Another City Losing the Red Light Cameras -this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Red light camera programs are ending in cities all over the state. Last year Los Angeles and San Bernardino are among major cities which chose to stop using red light camera enforcement and recently ABC-10 News has reported El Cajon City Councilman Gary Kendrick said it's time to bring those cameras down. According to Kendrick, more than 10,500 red light camera tickets were issued in El Cajon in 2011, adding up to about $5 million in revenue. However, less than 10 percent of that money went back to the city, and the rest went to the company operating the cameras. Kendrick said he'd rather see people spending that money at local businesses than on ticket fines.

If you received a red light camera ticket in a city still using the cameras and you are not the driver pictured on the ticket you can fill out an affidavit of non-liability, effectively putting the blame on someone else. If you were the driver pictured all is not lost. There are ways to contest a red light camera ticket and you can plead not guilty and request a court trial or trial by written declaration. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Any person driving a commercial vehicle regardless of the class of their license is not eligible for traffic school. If you attend and successfully complete traffic school the conviction will be reported to DMV with no point count, but DMV will not mask the conviction and it will appear on your driving record. If you hold a Class A, Class B, or Commercial Class C license you are not eligible for traffic school if you were cited before January 1, 2013. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Police Department Spokesperson Discusses Proper Conduct When You Get Pulled Over

by Steve Miller on 02-26-2013

Police Department Spokesperson Discusses Proper Conduct When You Get Pulled Over-  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

As reported by WCJB local Florida news, Gainesville police department spokesperson, Ben Tobias discusses proper conduct when you get pulled over by an officer:

Tobias said, "Whenever an officer does a traffic stop, there a lot of unknowns that the officer is facing. They don't know who the person is, it could be the nicest person in the world but we don't know the person we don't what they have access to and that's when the officer is going to be a little more direct sometimes even harsh when they're initially approaching on a traffic stop." and "It's what the person is holding in their hands or potentially holding in their hands that can be the most dangerous to us. When we see people's hands, we know that there's not a weapon in their hands."

When you get pulled over by an officer try to eliminate anything the officer may see as a potential safety threat, especially important to keep your hands in plain sight (like on the wheel) and avoid quick reaching movements.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Many Traffic Tickets Issued Few Drivers Contest

by Steve Miller on 02-19-2013

Many Traffic Tickets Issued Few Drivers Contest -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Out of the millions of traffic tickets filed with the courts a mere few hundred thousand drivers actually contest their tickets in court (Statistics from the Judicial Council of California, 2011 Court Statistics Report).

Many, many drivers do not know they can request an arraignment, go into court, plead not guilty and request a court trial that is in person before a judge with the officer present, or you can request a trial in writing where you submit a written declaration and the judge can dismiss your case based on this without you having to physically appear.

Drivers should also be aware you do not even have to physically appear for an arraignment because California allows you to plead not guilty in writing and you can request the type of trial you want in this letter. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If You Buy a Red Car You May be Prone to Get More Tickets

If You Buy a Red Car  You  May be Prone to Get More Tickets -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Walter Meyer, former Comedy traffic school instructor, once got access to the AAA's library in Los Angeles where he found a lot of information on car color and accident or ticket statistics. "According to the chart," he said, "drivers of red cars do get more tickets and in more accidents per capita than any other color." But he feels the figures more accurately represent the type of people who buy them and the way they drive their cars. "Camaro’s, Mustang’s and Porsche’s come in fire-engine red. They don't make Buicks and Cadillac’s in bright red because the senior drivers who buy those cars don't go for red. A red Porsche looks fast even its parked; a beige Buick could be doing 120 and look parked. People who buy red cars want to drive fast, so it makes sense they will get more tickets and get in more accidents," he added.  So there you have it. If you drive a red car you just might get more tickets! - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Ever a Right Time to Drive Solo in a Carpool Lane

by Steve Miller on 02-05-2013

Ever a Right Time to Drive Solo in a Carpool Lane - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The law generally restricts solo drivers from using carpool lanes; however, there are limited and specific exceptions to the rule. The website of the California Highway Patrol provides the following guidelines to help you determine when it is OK:

  • Part-time HOV Lanes - Some lanes are restricted to carpools only during high-use commute hours. It is legal for single-occupant vehicles to use the HOV lanes if it is outside those HOV hours of operation. Signs will be posted along the HOV lane telling you when the lane is restricted to carpools only. These part-time HOV lanes are most common in northern California.
  • High-Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lanes- These freeway facilities are also called "Express Lanes" and allow single-occupant vehicles to use the HOT lane by paying a toll electronically (with a FasTrak transponder). Most HOT lanes allow carpools to use the lane for free (local signs will specify this and indicate if carpools must carry a FasTrak transponder). HOT lanes may not be used by vehicles restricted to a 55 MPH speed limit. An example of an HOT lane is the Sunol Grade on Interstate 680 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Vehicles with White and Green Clean Air Decals - With these decals, drivers can drive solo in HOV lanes (unless locally prohibited)
  • Motorcycles - Solo motorcyclists can use HOV lanes (and most HOT lanes) without a decal unless otherwise posted. Motorcyclists cannot ride on, in, or over solid double lines.

In addition to the above guidelines, drivers should be aware that regardless of the number of passengers, vehicles subject to the 55 mph speed limit (like autos towing trailers or commercial vehicles) are prohibited from using the HOV lanes. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

5 Unwise Moves That Can Get You Pulled Over - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you want to avoid getting a ticket you need to try to stay under the radar: drive in a safe manner, try and obey the rules of the road of course, don’t exceed the flow of traffic or make unnecessary lane changes, and avoid these 5 “unwise” moves:

un – Un- safe condition (like driving with bald tires)

w – Weaving in and out of lanes (draws more attention to your speed)

i – Improperly loaded vehicles (draws police attention to your vehicle)

s – Signal light out (gives police additional reason to stop you)

e – Evading police (pull over as soon as possibly safe when you see those flashing lights behind you or the officer may think you are trying to evade police) - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Increased Seatbelt Enforcement by CHP Through September 2013

by Steve Miller on 01-22-2013

Increased Seatbelt Enforcement by CHP Through September 2013 - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

According to CHP press release, “even though California’s seatbelt requirement went into law more than a quarter- of –a- century ago there are some drivers and passengers who still resist the few seconds it takes to safety buckle up, or they may not properly secure a child in a car seat.”

CHP received a federal grant to help fund a campaign aimed at raising seatbelt safety awareness and part of the campaign is also additional seatbelt enforcement out on the highways throughout the end of September.  Increased seatbelt enforcement means you are less likely to get a warning or a pass and more likely to get a ticket!

A seatbelt ticket does not put a point on your driving record if you are a driver or a passenger, but a point will result for failure to properly secure children. The state has also passed new law for child passenger restraints, now requiring hospitals, clinics, and birthing centers to provide information regarding child safety seat requirements and installation upon discharging a child younger than 8.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Driving Slow Doesn’t Necessarily Help Either - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Here at TicketHitMan.com we have helped many, many drivers with speeding tickets. We’ve also helped drivers with tickets for just the opposite – driving too slowly. If you’ve every driven on a busy California freeway at 65 mph you probably were just about run off the road by drivers whizzing past you. While it’s more rare for a driver to be ticketed for driving too slow, we’ve seen it. California makes driving too slow or impeding traffic an infraction under section 22400 of the Vehicle Code. In addition to a ticket carrying a fine of $150 - $200, you can also get a point on your license.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

What to do About You HOV Lane Ticket

by Steve Miller on 01-08-2013

What to do About You HOV Lane Ticket - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

What to do after being caught red-handed in the carpool lane with no passenger. It happens to the best of us. Sometimes that empty lane is just too tempting and it’s hard to resist being relieved of that bumper to bumper traffic in the normal traffic lanes, even if just for a little while. Some have even gone so far as to put a fake skeleton in the passenger seat to try and fool the cops, as KING 5 TV Station out of Washington reported about a driver earlier this year.

Surprisingly California will not put a point on your license for driving by yourself in the carpool lane. You will however be slapped on the wrist with a heavy fine generally in the range of $400- $500. You’ll have to weigh the cost of fighting the ticket against the cost of just paying the ticket, but many drivers still choose to fight a ticket like this in order to avoid the violation being reported to the DMV and showing up on their record (albeit a zero point violation that will not increase the number of negligent operator points on your license, it will still be another violation listed on your record that can be of concern to employers or insurance companies). - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Tickets for Swinging Open a Car Door

by Steve Miller on 12-28-2012

Tickets for Swinging Open a Car Door - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you frequent busy cities like Los Angeles or San Francisco you may find yourself parking curbside a lot. With all the hustle and bustle you may accidently swing your door open when traffic is whizzing by. You may be surprised to hear that you can get a ticket for this.

The CA DMV defines V C Section 22517, “Opening and Closing Doors” as this:

“No person shall open the door of a vehicle on the side available to moving traffic unless it is reasonably safe to do so and can be done without interfering with the movement of such traffic, nor shall any person leave a door open upon the side of a vehicle available to moving traffic for a period of time longer than necessary to load or unload passengers.”

To avoid a ticket, you would need to wait until there is no traffic to open the door on the side of traffic. If there is no safe time to open the door on the side of traffic some sources say you should exit your vehicle from the curbside where it would be safe to open the passenger side door (if it is the driver's side that is on the traffic side). Violations of this law can be punishable by a fine in the two-hundred dollar range, but the light at the end of the tunnel is it doesn’t cause a point to be added to your driving record. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Reflective Coating on Your License Plate

Before You Spray Reflective Coating on Your License Plate to Avoid Getting Nabbed by a Red Light Camera Think Again- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

2013 will bring tougher laws relating to trying to prevent a red light camera from getting a clear photo of the license plate. Operating a vehicle with a product or device used to mask the license plate of a vehicle from being captured by electronic traffic enforcement devices will soon be a crime. In addition, the stricter law would allow for a hefty fine and even allow for the violation to proceed as a misdemeanor. More about Assembly Bill 2489, Hall:

This Bill would also prohibit a person from operating a vehicle with product or device and would make it a crime for a person to erase the reflective coating of, paint over the reflective coating of, or alter a license plate to avoid visual or electronic capture of the license plate or its characters by state or local law enforcement. The Bill would provide that a violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $250 per violation and would provide that these offenses are subject to specified procedures with regard to a defendant electing to have the case proceed as a misdemeanor.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Cell Phone Use While Stopped at a Red Light Lawful or Not

by Steve Miller on 12-11-2012

Cell Phone Use While Stopped at a Red Light Lawful or Not- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

For many Californians it is almost impossible not to use a phone at some point while driving. Even more tempting is to use that phone while stopped a t a red light or while stopped during a traffic jam. Now while it may seem logical that while you are stopped in your vehicle, you are not driving, CA court rulings do say different. In the case of People v. Nelson, the court clarified that using a phone while driving is prohibited even while stopped at a red light.

While the penalties for a ticket for using  a cell phone while driving may not  seem as serious as a ticket for a red light which can be several hundred dollars, these cell phone use while driving tickets can be almost $200.00 after all the extra fees are added on. Even though cell phone tickets do not currently add any points to a driver’s DMV record, they are still reported to the DMV and drivers do have a right to contest these types of tickets through the court.- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Stopping in the Wrong Place for a Red Light Can Result in a Ticket

by Steve Miller on 12-04-2012

Stopping in the Wrong Place for a Red Light Can Result in a Ticket- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Many drivers come to TicketHitMan.com after being issued a red light camera ticket and a common concern for these drivers is how they could have been given a ticket for failing to stop at a red light when they really did stop. A ticket can result by simply stopping in the wrong place.

California law requires drivers to stop for a red light at a limit line, or if no limit line before the crosswalk, or if no limit line or crosswalk, before entering the intersection. Here is what the law says:

A driver facing a steady circular red signal alone shall stop at a marked limit line, but if none, before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection or, if none, then before entering the intersection, and shall remain stopped until an indication to proceed is shown, except as provided in subdivision (b). (CA Veh. Code 21453(a).)

Moral of the story, when you stop, make sure you stop in the correct place, because if you stop in the wrong place, you can still get a ticket. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Auto Accidents Have Damaging Effect on Your License and Driver Record

by Steve Miller on 11-27-2012

Auto Accidents Have Damaging Effect on Your License and Driver Record- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

California requires drivers to report a traffic accident to the Department of Motor Vehicles within 10 days of a collision. This is true for whether or not you were at fault. It is also true for whether the accident occurred on public property or private property. Accidents must be reported anytime there is a minor or major injury, or a death occurs as a result of the accident, or anytime there is property damage resulting in more than $750.

Failing to report an accident to the Department of Motor Vehicles can result in a suspended license. The Department of Motor Vehicles may also contact your automobile insurance company to verify you were covered at the time of the accident. If you did not have coverage your license could be suspended for a year.  A traffic accident can also cause a point to be added onto your driving record.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The Car You Drive Could Make You a Target for Being Ticketed

The Car You Drive Could Make You a Target for Being Ticketed- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The most popular type of ticket that drivers come to TicketHitMan.com for help with is speeding. And we’ve heard just about every story from drivers about how and why they got a speeding ticket and many have relayed a feeling of being targeted because of the car they were driving.

Curious if there really is any correlation between the car you drive and whether you will get pulled over? Well, a study by Quality Planning, a company that provides services to auto insurers, seems to imply there is.

The 2010 study, examines various vehicle types and calculates the tendency of each to be ticketed by a police officer, based on the number of moving violation over 100,000 miles driven. Topping the charts is the Mercedes Benz, SL-Class, with the Toyota Camry –Solara nipping at its heels. Lower on the chart, but still making the cut in the Volkswagen GTI. Somewhere in the between is the Hummer, Scion Hatchback, and Acura Integra.

Typical speeding violations cost anywhere from $200 - $500 and can put 1 to 2 points on your driving record.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Another Satisfied TicketHitMan Customer

by Steve Miller on 11-13-2012

Another Satisfied TicketHitMan Customer- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Circumstances

Valued customer Omar brought his Commercial Driver Out of Lane ticket to TicketHitMan.com, looking for help as he is a commercial driver and without the ability to attend traffic school would have been affected by having the ticket go on his record.

Solution

The TicketHitMan.com Team researched Omar’s violation and prepared a Trial by Written Declaration for him to use in defending his ticket. The Trial by Written Declaration cited the law of California Vehicle Code Section 22348 (c) allowing commercial drivers to drive out of the required lane:

“When overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction, the driver shall use either the designated lane, the lane to the immediate left of the right-hand lane, or the right-hand lane for traffic as permitted under this code. If, however, specific lane or lanes have not been designated on a divided highway having four or more clearly marked lanes for traffic in one direction, a vehicle may also be driven in the lane to the immediate left of the right-hand lane, unless otherwise prohibited under this code.”

Here Omar had felt he was permitted to drive out of the right lane in order to overtake or pass another vehicle. In this case, the truck in Omar’s intended lane was traveling at about 25mph, and it was certainly not necessary for him to travel at that speed, especially considering his trailer was completely empty and the speed limit for his vehicle was 55mph. The trucks in the lane were impeding traffic in violation of California Vehicle Code section 22400 and it became necessary for Omar to pass. Since Omar was passing slower moving vehicles traveling in the same direction, Omar’s defense outlined why his actions were permitted under the law.

Conclusion

Omar, received his verdict from the Taft court by mail along with a refund of the ticket fine he had paid up front, a requirement of the Trial by Written Declaration process.  We are betting if (when) Omar gets another ticket he will hire a Hit Man, a Ticket Hit Man.- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Effects Auto Accidents Have on Your License and Driving Record- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Did you know that in California you are required to report a traffic accident to the Department of Motor Vehicles within 10 days whether you were at fault or not, and whether the accident occurred on private property or not? This is true in the following scenarios:

-          Anytime a  minor, or major injury, or a death occurs as a result of the accident

-          Anytime there is property damage resulting in more than $750

Consequences for failing to report an accident to the Department of Motor Vehicles can result in a suspended license. The Department of Motor Vehicles may also contact your automobile insurance company to verify you were covered at the time of the accident. If you did not have coverage your driver’s license can be suspended for the period of one year.

A traffic accident can cause a point to be added onto your driving record and too many points can lead to you being deemed a “negligent operator”.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Courts do not Always Side With the Officer Over the Traffic Violator

by Steve Miller on 10-30-2012

Courts do not Always Side With the Officer Over the Traffic Violator - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

States such as California have a Basic Speed Rule, which requires one to never drive at a speed greater than is safe for conditions. Therefore, say you drive above the posted 45 miles-per-hour limit, an officer can say the fact you were driving above the limit is “prima facie” evidence that your speed was unsafe. Prima facie is a Latin phrase essentially meaning a fact presumed to be true unless it is disproved.

Where is a good place to you start when cited for unsafe speed? Gather your evidence showing your speed was not unsafe (document details so you don’t forget, take photos, make diagrams, get witness statements). That’s what Sam did! Sam came to TicketHitMan.com with a ticket for 22350 “unsafe speed” and he wanted to fight it using a Trial by Written Declaration so he wouldn’t have to go to court. He was able to provide many details about the good driving conditions to help his defense.  TicketHitMan.com helped Sam prepare the necessary documents to fight his ticket which resulted in success.

Many people assume that the courts automatically side with an officer’s testimony; however this is not necessarily true. Sam received his notice of decision from the court in early October, which indicated the court had read and considered the officer’s testimony, and still ruled in his favor. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Fighting a Speeding Ticket in Mendocino County Results in Dismissal-this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

When you get a ticket (and the odds are that you will with millions of traffic tickets issued in the state each year) you will have to decide if you want to pay the fine and accept the point (or more) that will be added to your driving record, or if you want to fight it.

One of the very best methods for fighting a traffic ticket has to be the California Trial by Written Declaration. Just flip over the back of your ticket and you will see options listed. One of those options is a Trial by Written Declaration. Despite the option being right on the back of a traffic ticket, many, many people do not know they can fight a traffic ticket in writing without having to appear in court! Another perk, is being able to have another trial if you are found guilty (called a Trial De Novo).

Marty decided to try out this method because living in Texas he could not come to California and appear in court, but he didn’t know how to prepare his case for court on his own. Marty turned to TicketHitMan.com for expert help from people who assist individuals with preparing the necessary documents for fighting a traffic ticket, every single day.

Marty’s case was turned over to TicketHitMan.com Case Consultant, Rochelle, who was given a tight deadline of less than 14 days to prepare Marty’s case for court! In an over the phone consultation, Rochelle gathered details from Marty helpful to building his defense such as:

  • weather conditions at the time the officer clocked him with radar
  • traffic conditions at the time
  • the road conditions at the time
  • how far away the officer was when he first observed him and any obstructions in between them

Rochelle prepared a statement for Marty to use in defending his ticket which included discussion on:

  • the basic speed law Marty had been cited for and the burden of proof the other side needed to meet
  • errors that can occur with radar and which errors were most likely to have occurred based on the circumstances
  • necessity for it to be proven that Marty had driven at a speed “unsafe for conditions” and reasons why his speed was not unsafe
  • lack of notice of the speed limit since no sign had come into view
  • fact his cruise control had been set significantly below the speed alleged by the officer

The Trial by Written Declaration documents were prepared for Marty and mailed to the court on his behalf. Marty got word the beginning of this month that his ticket was dismissed and that his $436.00 was being refunded by the court! Congratulations to Marty and a big thanks to TicketHitMan.com staff who aided in the process of getting Marty’s ticket dismissed. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Fighting a Traffic Ticket and the Meaning of the Different Pleas

by Steve Miller on 10-16-2012

Fighting a Traffic Ticket and the Meaning of the Different Pleas - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

There are three options for how to plead when you get a traffic ticket. You can plead Guilty, Not Guilty, or No Contest.

What is meant by pleading Guilty? Essentially you are admitting to the charges and accepting the punishment (generally just a fine for the traffic ticket and points going on your record).

What is meant by pleading Not Guilty? Opposite of Guilty, you are not admitting to the charges. After a Not Guilty Plea has been entered, the case will be set for trial. Your trial options can include an in person trial with a judge and officer present or a trial in writing where you submit a declaration signed under penalty of perjury to the judge.

What is meant by pleading No Contest? With a No Contest plea, the result is often the same as a Guilty Plea with regard to having to pay the fine for the ticket and DMV being notified of the conviction.  The main difference between a No Contest Plea and a Guilty Plea is that a plea of "No Contest" cannot be used as an admission of guilt by the opposing party if you were to be involved in a later civil suit stemming from the ticket (which may come up if you were involved in an accident). -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

How to Handle a Fix-it-Ticket When You No Longer Own the Vehicle

How to Handle a Fix-it-Ticket When You No Longer Own the Vehicle - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Equipment violations (such as illegal tinted windows, missing license plates, worn out tires, or a broken tail light) are generally marked as ‘correctable’ on your ticket, meaning if you fix it you are eligible to have it dismissed.

Although most equipment violation tickets do not result in a point going on your record, they are recorded on your driver record, and the cost of the ticket will be far less if you have the violation corrected. Upon showing proof of correction to the clerk of the court you will only be charged a nominal fee, generally $25.00. As a comparison, an equipment violation ticket without proof of correction can cost over $100.00. Moreover if you do not have the violation fixed you are at risk for getting subsequent tickets.

Issues arise when you have sold the car since receiving the ticket or the car is now inoperable. If this occurred prior to you having the violation corrected, then you will no longer be able to obtain proof of correction. Therefore you will need to present your case to a judge along with proof of sale (showing you no longer own the car), or the relevant paperwork that shows the vehicle is now inoperable. The judge has the discretion to dismiss the ticket for you even though you never took care of the fix – it – ticket. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Tickets Received as Bicyclist or Pedestrian Reported to DMV Not Assigned Points

by Steve Miller on 09-27-2012

Tickets Received as Bicyclist or Pedestrian Reported to DMV Not Assigned Points - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Believe it or not you can get a ticket for a violation of the “Vehicle Code” as a pedestrian or bicyclist (even though you are not in a motor vehicle, go figure).

Rest assured that while the violation will appear on your driving record, since you received the ticket as a pedestrian or bicyclist, you would not get a point on your record.

Here’s what the Department of Motor Vehicles has to say about these tickets:

Vehicle Code Violations used in Negligent Operator Counts, Violation Point Assessment - “Violation points are assigned to Vehicle Code sections and any other code section, or city or county ordinance, involving the safe operation of a motor vehicle. Any violation occurring as a pedestrian or a bicyclist has no point assigned. The department may suspend and place on probation, or revoke, the driving privilege of a negligent operator.”

Typical tickets that you might receive as a pedestrian or bicyclist include:

-          failing to stop for a stop sign

-          failing to stop for a red light (or obey the pedestrian WALK/DON’T WALK)

Typically fines for these tickets range from $115 - $154 but can be more after additional court fees are tacked on. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Disobeying an Inoperable Light Carries Same Penalties as Disobeying Red Light

Disobeying an Inoperable Light Carries Same Penalties as Disobeying Red Light - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Did you know that a ticket for disobeying a flashing red light or inoperable light carries the same weight as a red light ticket? It’s true; both can add one negligent operator point to your driver record. One point violations will remain on your driving record for approximately three years.

We all know a stop sign means stop. But what should you do when you approach a traffic light that is flashing or not working?

The Vehicle Code says a flashing red light is to be treated like a stop sign. If a yellow light is flashing, this means you should slow down and watch for oncoming traffic. If a red light is flashing though, that means stop and check for traffic before proceeding.  -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Ramifications of Fighting a Ticket and Losing

by Steve Miller on 09-14-2012

Ramifications of Fighting a Ticket and Losing - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you fight a traffic ticket on your own and lose, the usual penalty is a fine. Depending upon the violation, the fine can be very high. In addition, the court will update the DMV about the conviction and the conviction will appear on your Motor Vehicle Record. If the violation is one that the DMV assigns negligent operator points to, then points will be added to your license. Too many points can lead to license suspension, increase in Auto Insurance premiums, and loss of good driver discounts. If you are truck driver or drive for a living, too many points on your license can hurt your chances at employment.

The light at the end of the tunnel is that the violations will not be on your record forever. In fact, most violations “fall off” after three years. Three years is a long time to wait though, so you want to put your best foot forward in contesting your ticket the first time around to better your chances at keeping it off your record. Familiarize yourself with the court system, and ticket fighting strategies, or hire a traffic ticket expert, like TicketHitMan.com to fight for you.  -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

California U-Turn Laws Can be Confusing Remember These Points to Avoid a Ticket

California U-Turn Laws Can be Confusing – Remember These Points to Avoid a Ticket - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

California U-Turn laws are confusing because you can’t always assume that a U-Turn is allowed just because there is no sign prohibiting it.

Be Aware in Business Districts:

If you are in a business district, even in the absence of a turn prohibition sign, you cannot make a U-turn unless it is at an opening specifically provided for turns or at an intersection.

Residential Areas More Lenient:

When driving through a residential area, U-Turn rules are more relaxed. In the absence of a ‘No U-Turn’, you can generally make a U-Turn as long as you have an unobstructed view of at least 200 feet ahead and behind (both directions). U-Turns are even permitted across double yellow lines (although you cannot pass over double yellow line it is ok to make a U-Turn).

Additional Times U-Turns Not Allowed:

Never make a U-Turn: in front of a Fire Station; when you have an obstructed view (example rain, fog, dust, curve or hill); or when it is not safe to do so (example car coming).  -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Just about every year state legislators have attempted to get bills passed that would allow for the issuance of speeding tickets much like the law allows for Red Light Camera Tickets. However no law on speed cameras for California has been passed yet. What are those cameras you see on some of the California Freeways for you ask?

Those cameras you see are ‘Closed Circuit Television Cameras’ which Caltrans has installed on many freeways (mostly urban areas). Caltrans is adamant that purpose for the cameras is not to monitor speed but rather to verify reported accidents and for traffic management purposes. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Put Your Best Foot Forward When Appearing in Traffic Court

by Steve Miller on 08-23-2012

Put Your Best Foot Forward When Appearing in Traffic Court - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

When appearing before a judge in court for your traffic ticket there are some simple ‘Do’s’ and ‘Don’ts’ to remember:

Do:

  • Tell the Judge what street or highway you were on, what intersection, if any, was involved, and the direction you were traveling.
  • Describe what happened in the order it happened. Present your best reasons first for why you think your ticket should be dismissed.
  • Simple and to the point is best. If the Judge asks you any questions, try to answer them directly.
  • Dress as if you are coming to a business appointment.

Don't

  • Interrupt or argue with the Judge or the police officer.
  • Repeat yourself unnecessarily.
  • Come into Court unprepared, without the documents you need for your case.
  • Bring a cell phone in to Court.

If you find yourself too uncomfortable or busy to appear in court to contest your ticket,  check out the TicketHitMan.com FAQ page to read how you can fight your ticket without going to court at http://tickethitman.com/FAQs .-  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

What to do if you Got a Ticket but Really are Innocent

by Steve Miller on 08-15-2012

What to do if you Got a Ticket but Really are Innocent - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Everybody makes mistakes, even officers. If you received a ticket and feel you are innocent, you should gather proof as soon as you can.

For example, if the officer ticketed you for ignoring a stop sign, but there was no visible stop sign at the time because it was knocked down by the wind or a tree, take a picture right away. You’ll want to make color copies to provide to the court as proof as well as keep a copy for yourself.

As another example, if the officer ticketed you for failing to yield to a pedestrian but there was no pedestrian anywhere near your vehicle, check for witnesses and ask them for a statement about what they saw. If you agree with their version of what happened, write down their name and phone number and ask if they would be willing to testify in your favor at court.

Make sure you comply with all deadlines for your ticket indicated on the ticket the officer gave you or on the separate courtesy notice the court sent to you. You must respond by the deadline and if you wish to fight the ticket you will need to request a court trial or trial by written declaration. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

How to Clear a Ticket That You Received Really Belonging to Someone Else

How to Clear a Ticket That You Received Really Belonging  to Someone Else - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

According to Voluntary Benefits Magazine.com, “Racking up traffic violations on another person’s driver’s license is one of the most common forms of identity theft”. A thief may use another’s driver’s license because they were unable to obtain one of their own or to avoid racking up points on their own driver’s license.

If you believe that you have a received a citation or notice from the court in error because someone else used your name or other identification, you should personally go to the court with your photo identification and request to appear in front of a judge. To reestablish your Driver’s License contact the Department of Motor Vehicles for instructions on how to obtain a new driver’s license number. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

License is Suspended in California Limits Your Ability to Obtain a License in Another State

If Your License is Suspended in California Your Ability to Obtain a License in Another State That You Move to May be Affected - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

California, along with the other states, participates in what is called the ‘Problem Driver Pointer System’ (PDPS for short). When you apply for a driver’s license in another state, the system alerts the inquiring state (referred to as the State – of – inquiry) as to whether there is any action against your driver’s license in other states. It is then up to the state where you have applied for a license to issue you a license. States have varying rules and some may not issue a license until the action is cleared.

Your actual driving record (listing points and violations and accidents) is not maintained in the PDPS. The purpose of the PDPS is to provide information such as your name, driver’s license number, date of birth, and the state that added you (this state is referred to as State – of –record). State – of – Inquiry can then contact the State – of – Record for further information.  You are entitled to know whether you are listed in the PDPS and you can do so by making a ‘privacy act request’ to the National Driver Register.-  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

More Than Five Million Traffic Violations Are Filed Each Year in California Courts

by Steve Miller on 07-18-2012

More Than Five Million Traffic Violations Are Filed Each Year in California Courts  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

More than 5 million traffic violations are filed each year in California’s courts (reported by the Superior Court of California, County of Glenn).

Traffic violations are broken down into three categories based on the level of seriousness. The infraction level, the misdemeanor level, and the felony level. Most traffic violations are infractions, but some, like vehicular manslaughter (i.e. a pedestrian dies because you ran over them with your car), are felonies.

Infractions are not punishable by jail or prison and are not subject to trial by jury therefore the punishment is generally just a fine. Penalties for infractions can be as much as $200.00 or more for common traffic infractions including unsafe speed, failing to obey a sign, and making an unsafe lane change.

Misdemeanors, such as driving while intoxicated by alcohol or drugs, can carry penalties of as much as $2,000 or more and/or jail time. The maximum penalty allowed in California for a misdemeanor is one year in county jail and/or a fine. Felonies are punishable by prison or probation. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Stopping for Stop Sign, But in Wrong Place, Can Result in Ticket Like Failing to Stop

by Steve Miller on 07-12-2012

Stopping for a Stop Sign, But in the Wrong Place, Can Result in a Ticket Just Like Failing to Stop at All - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Many drivers are unaware that if they stop past the limit line they are technically just as guilty as if they had failed to stop at all. There is a natural tendency to roll past the limit line before stopping especially when making a right hand turn or in order to “creep” forward to a point of visibility. However just because everyone does it doesn’t make it legal.

The court addressed this very issue in a San Bernardino Superior court case where the Defendant, Binkowski, made a complete stop, but stopped with her front wheels over the limit line.

The court scrutinized the language of the stop sign law in the vehicle code (must stop at limit line, or before entering crosswalk, or if none before entering intersection), defined limit line (the point at which traffic is required to stop), and went a step further and defined what was meant by point (specified position). The court found the intent of the law is to require a full stop be made before any part of the vehicle crosses the limit line (this includes the front bumper).

The practice of stopping at a limit line and then “creeping” forward to a point of visibility has long been recognized as practical, but the key to avoiding a ticket is to make that full initial stop before the limit line.  -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Long Delays for Court Date to Fight a Traffic Ticket in Los Angeles

by Steve Miller on 07-05-2012

Long Delays for Court Date to Fight a Traffic Ticket in Los Angeles - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

California courts have been feeling the pressure of the budget crisis over the past few years. Furloughs, layoffs, and courthouse closures, have resulted in significant delays in the time it takes you to get your traffic ticket resolved, as well as long waits in line at courthouses and difficulty getting through to a live clerk on the phone.

The Los Angeles Superior court stated in its 2011 Annual Report that its now takes about nine months from the time a person receives a traffic ticket until the time they can get a court date.

You may be wondering how this affects your right to speedy trial.

Under California Law (Penal code 1382 section 3), the court shall dismiss an action (unless good cause is shown) when a person in an infraction case (most traffic tickets are infractions) is not brought to trial within 45 days after they have been arraigned or entered a plea (whichever happens later). So if you go to court, plead not guilty, and request a court trial, the 45-day time period starts to run from that point. If the court gives you a trial date and it is past that 45 day period make sure you do not give up your right to a speedy trial by signing a waiver of the 45 day trial requirement (which the court may try to have you do). If you do not waive time you should be eligible to have the ticket dismissed by the judge when you do appear for your court trial.

It is important to know that the speedy trial requirement does not apply to Trial by Written Declarations (where you contest your case in writing instead of live in person) and generally does not apply if you are the one who requested extending the court trial past the 45 day mark.  -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Forgetting to Signal May Not Necessarily Land a California Driver a Ticket

by Steve Miller on 06-29-2012

Forgetting to Signal May Not Necessarily Land a California Driver a Ticket - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The California Court of appeal decided in People v. Carmona that a turn signal is not needed when there is nobody around. The opinion was written by Justice O’Leary.

Carmona made a right hand turn without a signal and the only other vehicle around was the officer who was driving in the opposite direction 50+ feet away. Carmona made the turn away from the officer’s vehicle so there was no chance his vehicle could have been affected by Carmona’s turn and therefore there was no violation of the Vehicle Code section 22107 (requires signal when turning anytime another vehicle might be affected by the movement).

Likewise the state’s second highest court ruled that it was not a violation of Vehicle Code section 22108 (which requires a turn signal to be used for last 100 feet before turning) to not signal when no other cars are around that could be affected. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Speeding Ticket Victory

by Steve Miller on 06-21-2012

Speeding Ticket Victory - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Not all of us can get out of a ticket using the old “I’m famous” line, like Oakland Raiders rookie player recently tweeted after dodging a ticket by telling the officer he was a Raider. Some of are stuck fighting tickets the old fashioned way. Here at TicketHitMan.com we prefer to use the old Trial by Written Declaration method that’s been around since late 1970 (though surprisingly not many people know about it). Here’s a recent success story for you.

A client came to us with a speeding ticket, cited for 20 mph above the legal limit. The Client honestly felt like most of the time she was going with the flow of traffic, she had cars on both sides of her, and she hadn’t had a ticket in ten years so she was a relatively safe driver.

Using the client’s facts, and doing some research of our own, we were able to prepare a well written statement for her to use in getting out of this ticket. Raised issues included discussing the officer’s failure to obtain a clear line of sight to the client’s vehicle to accurately gauge her speed in the dark with other cars around her car and in between them, lack of proof as the accuracy of the officer’s radar gun. We also felt important to point out to the court that the client had a clean driving record for numerous years and that this ticket was clearly not a true representation of her actual driving habits.

Two months later the client received a not guilty verdict from the court. The ticket has been dismissed from her record and she received over $300 back from the court (refunding her bail that she had been required to post up front). An inspiring story for the rest of us as proof you don’t have to be a celebrity to get out of an undeserved ticket.  -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Simple Tips to Avoid Speeding Tickets While Traveling this Summer

by Steve Miller on 06-14-2012

Simple Tips to Avoid Speeding Tickets While Traveling this Summer - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Speed Violations can range from putting 1 point on your license to 2, and the cost can be $150 - $400 plus.  During your summer travels, here are some simple tips to help avoid speeding tickets when traveling through unfamiliar areas:

Watch for speed limit changes when crossing county lines and state lines. If you don’t see a speed limit sign on a freeway, the general rule do not go over 65 Miles – per – hour unless its posted higher to 70 miles – per – hour. Even if there are no signs posted at no time are you allowed to exceed 100 miles – per – hour.

If you find yourself on an undivided freeway with one lane in either direction the default speed is actually 55 miles – per – hour not 65 miles – per - hour.

Lastly, lower speed when entering towns, business districts, residential areas, or commercial districts, the speed limit can sometimes drop significantly, down to 25 mph to 35 mph.  -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

3 of the Tickets Drivers Get Most and How to Avoid Getting One Yourself

by Steve Miller on 06-07-2012

3 of the Tickets Drivers Get Most and How to Avoid Getting One Yourself- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Going too fast. Rolling rights on red. Cell phone in hand. These are the kinds of tickets drivers are getting left and right.

On the freeway avoid being out by yourself or the leader of the pack, if there is an officer waiting down the road with radar he will have a clear shot to your vehicle. Avoid repeatedly changing lanes this will draw attention to yourself, and don’t try to keep up with the flow of fast moving cars behind you, its best not to risk it, just check for another open lane.

When making a right hand on a red light check for signs that might prohibit a turn on red and most importantly come to a complete stop before the limit line. After stopping before the limit line, THEN roll forward to see around to oncoming traffic. Drivers come to us all the time frustrated they got a red light ticket just for making a right hand turn and the most common factor is that they rolled forward to check for traffic before coming to that complete stop.

If you need to check the time on your phone, turn off the ringer, or connect your blue tooth, do it quickly! Keep phone to hand contact at a minimum.  Even if you are not doing anything wrong the officer can only go by what he sees from the outside of your car. We have seen countless drivers receive tickets when they weren’t actually texting, it just looked like they did. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

What To Do If You Have Lost Your Ticket

What To Do If You Have Lost Your Ticket - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Once a citation is issued, the case then falls under the jurisdiction of the court so if you have lost your ticket and did not write down the courthouse name anywhere that is a problem. The police department from where the ticket was issued will generally not be able to answer questions or concerns regarding your ticket, any questions would need to be directed to the court.

The California Court website does provide a tool to help you locate your court. This is your best bet if you lost your ticket. You can go to the website (http://www.courts.ca.gov/find-my-court.htm ) and type in the city you were cited in and it will show you the closest courthouse.

The court holds you responsible to respond by the due date listed on your ticket so if you have lost your ticket you will want to take action right away to avoid getting a failure to appear. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Handling Traffic Tickets Different for Minors

by Steve Miller on 05-21-2012

Handling Traffic Tickets Different for Minors - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If a minor (under 18 at the time ticketed) receives a traffic ticket the process for handling the ticket (whether you want to contest it or just pay for it) are very different than for an adult.

An adult can avoid going to court for most violations by simply mailing in the fine for the ticket, pleading not guilty in writing, or requesting a written trial by mail.

A minor on the other hand cannot just send in the fine for the ticket. If the minor receives a courtesy notice from the court it will likely have the words “Mandatory Appearance” printed on it. A parent or guardian will also need to appear in court with the minor by the appearance date listed on the ticket or courtesy notice.

Courts have an interest in preventing minor’s from being able to “conceal” their traffic violations from the parent or guardian, and the idea is that the parent or guardian, now aware of the violation will take proper steps to ensure the minor is adhering to traffic laws. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

What To Do If You Have A Ticket For Illegal Tint But Sold The Car

What To Do If You Have A Ticket For Illegal Tint But Sold The Car - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you receive a ticket for illegal window tint (section VC-26708) but had planned to trade in or sell your car anyway so you decide to do this as way to take care of the ticket think again!

A ticket for window tint is usually marked as a correctable violation and can easily be corrected by having the tint removed and getting the back of the ticket signed off by an officer certifying that you in fact removed the tint.

The court will accept your proof of correction along with a nominal administrative fee, dismiss the violation and your driving record will not be affected.

If you fail to obtain proof of correction prior to selling or trading in your car, you are still responsible for the ticket since the violation occurred while you still owned it. The court clerk will not be able to dismiss your ticket since you do not have proof of correction and without proof of correction the fine can be $100 - $200.

You MAY however be eligible for a reduction in the fine or dismissal if you talk to a judge and show proof of sale. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

What is a Speed Trap

by Steve Miller on 05-07-2012

What is a Speed Trap - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Contrary to popular belief, a Speed Trap is not just a bunch of officers parked at the bottom of a steep hill, or around a sharp curve, waiting to pull people over left and right.

By definition a speed trap is when an officer uses radar (or any other electronic speed measurement device like laser or lidar) on a particular section of highway where the posted speed limit has not been justified by an engineering and traffic survey.

How do you determine if you were caught in a speed trap? You will need to get a copy of the engineering and traffic survey covering the section of road you were cited on. The survey will show what the speed limit should be set at and you can compare this to the actual posted speed to see if it is indeed lower. In addition the survey will have a date on it and you can compare this date to the date you received the ticket to see if it is outdated (more than 5-10 years old depending on circumstances). -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

How to Take Care of Ticket For Failing to Have Proof of Insurance

by Steve Miller on 05-01-2012

How to Take Care of Ticket For Failing to Have Proof of Insurance - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The State of California requires every driver and every owner of a motor vehicle to be in possession of proof of financial responsibility (insurance) at all times.

So what happens if you couldn’t find your insurance card at the time the officer stopped you or if there was a lapse in your insurance coverage and you didn’t get insurance until after you were ticketed?

Many courts offer remedies for these types of situations and you can usually avoid making a personal appearance in court so long as you have proof of insurance covering the date you got the ticket. If you do, you can mail in a copy of your insurance card along with the fee (generally $25.00) to the court.

Other acceptable proofs of insurance may include:

  • The name of the insurance company or surety company and the number of the insurance policy or surety bond
  • The certificate or deposit number issued by the DMV (if the owner of the vehicle is self – insured)
  • An insurance covering note (Covering notes may be issued to bind insurance temporarily for a period of about 90 days, pending the issuance of the policy)
  • Proof the vehicle is owned or leased by the government

If you did not have any insurance at the time you were stopped you will most likely have to make a personal appearance in court and you must bring proof that you now have insurance. The court may still offer you a reduced fine since you have proof of current insurance. If you do not appear in court and attempt to try and send in proof of current insurance (not covering the date of the ticket) you will have to send in the entire fine amount (generally $800.00 plus). -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Which States Can You be Ticketed in For Not Wearing a Seatbelt

by Steve Miller on 04-23-2012

Which States Can You be Ticketed in For Not Wearing a Seatbelt - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you’re going to be traveling this summer by car be sure to check out the seatbelt laws for the states you will driving across. The seatbelt requirements vary depending on the state you are in. The Governors Highway Safety Association website for example, provides you with a list of all the states and the applicable seatbelt laws.

Some states such as California, Alaska, and Oregon require passengers in both the front and back seat to be properly buckled. Other states such as Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida only require certain passengers to wear a seatbelt if in the front seat.

The states differ even more when it comes to whether a police officer can stop you purely based on a suspected seatbelt violation or whether you have to be doing something else wrong too.

California, like New York, Illinois, and Kansas are of  those states where you can be pulled over just for a seatbelt ticket. Around 1993 the seatbelt violation became a primary enforcement law in California.

If you are driving through Arizona, Nevada, or Colorado (to name a few), you are supposed to only be ticketed if doing something else wrong in addition to not wearing a seatbelt because those states have seat belt laws which are of secondary enforcement. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

“It’s Not Worth It”

You may see this message on an LED Billboard as your driving along the freeway.

The California Highway Patrol has launched an “It’s Not Worth it Campaign” for their crackdown on Distracted Drivers this month of April.

KTLA reported that During a similar month-long enforcement effort last year, 52,000 people across the state were ticketed.

Drivers beware texting ticket and talking on the phone without hands free device cost can be expensive, $150.00 on average.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Cell Phone Use While Driving Becoming More and More Restricted

by Steve Miller on 04-12-2012

Cell Phone Use While Driving Becoming More and More Restricted - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Throughout the US, there is a trend of increasingly tougher Cell Phone Laws.

Late last year the National Transportation Safety Board recommended a nationwide ban on the use of cell phones while driving.

Earlier this year, a new Federal law, enacted by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, sought to cut down on the number of distracted driver related crashes by banning commercial vehicle drivers from using cell phones while driving.

Just recently, the city of Chapel Hill in North Carolina has gone a step above California’s hands free law which just requires a hands free device to be used when driving, and has elected to ban cell phone use while driving entirely (regardless of whether a hands free device is used).

As for California there is still talk that the fines may increase to above $250 for a first offense and over $372 for a subsequent offense. California drivers should also be aware that April is “Distracted Driver Awareness Month” and the CHP will be out in full enforcement. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Think Again Before Texting While Stopped at a Red Light

by Steve Miller on 04-02-2012

Think Again Before Texting While Stopped at a Red Light - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The law says you cannot drive a car while using a cell phone (without a hands free device) and many perceive this to only apply while the car is “in motion”. Just last year the California Court of Appeal in San Francisco decided a case involving a motorist who was ticketed for making a phone call while stopped at a red light.

The motorist argued  that while he was stopped at a red light his car was not in motion, and since his car was not in motion, he was not actually driving it and therefore it was permissible for him to use his phone until he resumed movement.

The court made clear however that fleeting pauses while driving including those made in stop and go traffic, at stop light and stop signs, and while waiting for pedestrians, is considered “driving” for purposes of being cited under the law. So think again before getting out that phone to sneak a quick text while you’re waiting for your light to change! - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Know When it's Okay to Cross Double Yellows

by Steve Miller on 03-20-2012

Know When  it's Okay to Cross Double Yellows - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

It seems the majority of drivers, even ones that have been driving for many years are not clear as to when you can or cannot drive your vehicle across double yellow lines. We’ve even seen some officers even wrongly ticket drivers for crossing double yellow lines when in fact under the law they were permitted to.

The general rule is that you cannot cross double yellow lines however the rule is not absolute. There are exceptions to the general rule. Here’s the breakdown:

When it’s okay -

  1. Turning Left at an Intersection
  2. Turning Into/Out of a Driveway
  3. Turning Into/Out of a Private Road
  4. Making a U-turn
  5. You’re Told to (i.e. road work is being done and signs direct you to cross the lines)
  6. Overtaking or Passing Another Vehicle (only if there is double line with one broken and the one broken is on the side closest to you)

Do You Need To Hire An Attorney for a Traffic Ticket

by Steve Miller on 03-12-2012

Do You Need To Hire An Attorney for a Traffic Ticket - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

You have to compare the cost of the traffic ticket to the cost of an attorney. An attorney might charge up to $2,000 just to make an appearance for you in court. A speeding ticket might only cost $300. Many times the attorney will strike a deal with the officer before even going into the court room to get you traffic school or a reduced ticket, instead of fighting in court to get your ticket fully dismissed.

Some find it beneficial or necessary to hire an attorney despite the cost because they are looking at losing their license, or a point added to their license means losing their job, or maybe they just do not have the time to appear in court themselves. But there are ways you can contest a traffic ticket without physically appearing in court (i.e. the Trial by Written Declaration), and unless you’ve got money that’s burning a hole in your pocket it ill behooves the majority of people  to hire an attorney for a simple traffic ticket. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Whether Subpoenaing Documents for a Traffic Ticket is a Good Idea

by Steve Miller on 03-05-2012

Whether Subpoenaing Documents for a Traffic Ticket is a Good Idea - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Conducting Discovery and subpoenaing documents from the police department where the officer who issued your ticket is employed for items relating to your traffic infraction case (example: the officer’s notes or calibration records for the officer’s radar) can be a time consuming process and it’s also rarely done at the infraction level. Because discovery requests are rarely done at the infraction level it might even give the citing officer a heads up that you are going to fight the ticket and hurt your chances at getting it dismissed.

If you want to get your hands on something like a traffic survey for the street you were cited on to see if the speed limit is justified, a better option is to make a simple public records request to the public works department in the city of where you were cited or the City Hall. Furthermore, if you plan on contesting your ticket using a Trial by Written Declaration, the beauty of it is, if you are found guilty you can request a copy of the Officer’s Declaration directly from the court and this will usually provide you with a lot of the same information you would have obtained had you sent a request to the police department for the officer’s notes and radar calibration, etc., before going to court to contest the ticket again at the new trial - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Validity of Red Light Camera Tickets Under Attack Again

by Steve Miller on 02-27-2012

Validity of Red Light Camera Tickets Under Attack Again - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The future state of Red Light Cameras in California is questionable as more and more judges rule that the evidence gathered by red light camera is in admissible in court.

The California Court of Appeal in People v. Borzakian (2012) Second District Court of Appeal, Div. 7, B229748, reversed a decision to rule in favor of a motorist accused of failing to stop for a red light at the intersection of Beverley Drive and Wilshire Boulevard in the City of Beverly Hills in June of 2009. The camera generated photographs were taken by equipment maintained by a private camera company (Red Flex) and yet no employee from the camera company was present in court, rather the case was presented by a Beverly Hills Police Officer.

The court ruled the Officer’s testimony failed to establish the photographs were trustworthy and that without proper testimony the photographs were not properly admitted, and without the photographs being admitted there lacked evidence to support the motorist had run the red light.

This is in keeping with an Orange County Superior Court Appellate Division case, People v. Khaled (2010) 186 Cal. App.4th Supp. 1, which similarly ruled that photographic evidence generated by Red Flex Traffic Systems was inadmissible. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Traffic Ticket Fines in California

by Steve Miller on 02-20-2012

Traffic Ticket Fines in California - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

In California traffic fines are higher than ever. A speeding ticket, depending on fast you were going can run you anywhere from $150 to $400, same for red light tickets depending on whether you were turning or going straight through a light.

The true cost of a ticket can be misleading. While you may have heard that a cell phone ticket is only $20, in reality $20 is only the “base fine” amount. The base bail amount doesn’t reflect the other fees you have to pay that are added in to make up the “total bail” or total fine amount.

There are added fees that go to funding the State, County, and Court etc. For example driving related fees and fines provide support for local EMS Agencies (emergency services).

When it comes to traffic tickets you don’t have to roll over and lend your hard earned money to fund the state, there are ways you can fight your ticket through the court and if you lose you can always try for traffic school. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Keeping Your Old Driver’s License Puts You at Risk for Being Ticketed

Keeping Your Old Driver’s License Puts You at Risk for Being Ticketed - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

In California it is an infraction to have more than one driver’s license in your possession. Surprisingly many people are unaware that it is illegal.

We heard a story of an unfortunate man who was stopped by a police officer and when the officer asked him for his license and registration, the officer saw the old license in the wallet behind the new one and promptly issued a ticket.

When it comes to violations like this, the police officer who pulls you over can choose whether to mark the violation as correctable or not. In other words, he can choose whether to give you the opportunity to correct the mistake when appropriate. If for some reason the officer finds it’s inappropriate to mark the violation as correctable then instead of a $25 fine you will be looking a $150.00 + fine, but luckily you shouldn’t have to worry about a point being added to your driving record.   - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you received a ticket for a traffic infraction, an arraignment hearing is generally your first appearance in court before a judicial officer. You should bring your citation and courtesy notice with you to the arraignment so you have this to refer to.

At the arraignment hearing the officer will not be present so you will not present an argument on your case. How Long Traffic Violations Remain on Driving Record

by Steve Miller on 02-02-2012

How Long Traffic Violations Remain on Driving Record - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Most traffic violations will remain on your California Department of Motor Vehicles driving record for a period of several years.

There is something called “expungement” that allows certain convictions to be removed from your record, and although infractions are now eligible to be expunged (request for court to dismiss or remove from record), it is important to know this is only true for NON traffic infractions. Traffic infractions such as speeding, red light, stop sign convictions, cannot be removed from your record through expungement.

For traffic violations that are assessed one point by the DMV (i.e.. unsafe lane change, crossing double yellow lines), they remain on your record for three years, counting from the date of the violation. And for more serious traffic offenses (i.e. DUI, Speeding over 100 MPH) that count as more than one point will stay on your record for about seven years from the date of the violation. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Traffic Court Says You’ve Been Found guilty ‘In Absentia’ You Say I Want a New Trial

Traffic Court Says You’ve Been Found guilty ‘In Absentia’ You Say I Want a New Trial - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you receive a notice or are told by the court that you have been found guilty ‘In Absentia’ (Latin phrase for while absent) based on you having failed to appear for you court date. All may not be lost.

Under California Law (Vehicle Code section 40903) the court can deem that you elected for a Trial by Written Declaration if you failed to appear. The beauty of a Trial by Written Declaration proceeding is if you are found guilty by Trial by Written Declaration, you are entitled to a new trial, a Trial De Novo.

If you have been found guilty In Absentia simply request the Trial De Novo forms from the court and file for a new trial. At the new trial you will get your day in court and be able to present your case and evidence to the judge for the first time as well as have the officer present to confront and question. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

How Your Traffic Ticket Fine is Calculated

by Steve Miller on 01-17-2012

How Your Traffic Ticket Fine is Calculated - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

A traffic ticket will generally be entered into a court’s computer system within a couple weeks after you receive it. Once your ticket is entered into the court’s system your ticket fine and/or bail amount is calculated using the court’s bail amount schedule and your Driver License Record to calculate the total due.

Bail amounts for traffic infraction violations of the California Vehicle Code are established by the Judicial Council of California. The “Uniform a Bail and Penalty” schedule is established in order to achieve a statewide standard of uniformity for setting bail/fine amounts.

However in addition to the base fine/bail amount you are charged, additional factors affect the amount you owe:

  1. Number of violations on your ticket
  2. Number of prior convictions on your California Drivers’ License

Only the clerk of the court where your ticket is filed can give you the exact amount you owe. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Effects of a Parking Ticket and Ways to Resolve

by Steve Miller on 01-10-2012

Effects of a Parking Ticket and Ways to Resolve- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Most parking violations are not filed with the courts. For those tickets they are not considered moving violations and once paid would not have any effect on your driving record or cause your auto insurance to increase.

Traffic tickets that go unpaid however can result in: additional penalties and late fines, loss of your right to contest the ticket, notification to the DMV to withhold your vehicle registration renewal until all penalties and late fines are paid, and/or notification to the California Franchise Tax Board to withhold all penalties and late fines from your state income tax refund or lottery winnings.

For many it’s not so much the cost of the parking ticket (although fees can range anywhere from $50 – over $200) but the principal and for those that want to fight their ticket they can do so in a 3 step process.

The California Vehicle Code provides a parking ticket can be fought by: # 1. Initial Review (heard by the issuing agency), #2. Administrative Hearing (heard by a qualified examiner contracted or appointed by the issuing agency), #3. Trial De Novo (heard in Superior Court by a judicial officer). Additionally parking ticket fines may be waived during the time you are contesting it upon proof of inability to pay. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Don't Get a Seatbelt Ticket Keep It On During a Traffic Stop Have All Passengers Do the Same

Don’t Get a Seatbelt Ticket Keep It On During a Traffic Stop Have All Passengers Do the Same - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

During the Holiday season police are in full enforcement searching for drunk drivers but also for drivers not wearing seatbelts.

The driver themselves can be ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt but also can be ticketed for the failure of any passengers in the vehicle to wear one.

A seatbelt ticket for an adult or child over the age of 16 will usually not result in a point being added to your driving record, but it will for unbelted juveniles under the age of 16.

Even if you had your seatbelt on while driving and only took it off when you pulled over and stopped for the officer, you can get a ticket for taking it off before the officer saw you with it on. Avoid the appearance of impropriety, and make sure everybody keeps their seatbelts fastened even if you are just parked and waiting for the officer to approach your vehicle. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Why You Don’t Get a Jury Trial For a Traffic Ticket

by Steve Miller on 12-27-2011

Why You Don’t Get a Jury Trial For a Traffic Ticket- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

If you ever tried to get a jury trial for your speeding ticket and got shot down, this is why:

Sometime around 1969, California created a new way to classify traffic tickets – the infraction.

An infraction is not punishable by imprisonment which is why you just get slapped with a fine when you get a traffic ticket instead of going to jail. Per California Penal code, “A person charged with an infraction shall not be entitled to a trial by jury.” (CA Penal Code 19.6)

What’s more, “a person charged with an infraction shall not be entitled to have the public defender or other counsel appointed…” at the states’ expense (also CA Penal Code 19.6)

This is why you are generally only allowed a court trial with a judge and officer present, or a written Trial by Declaration in traffic ticket cases. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Coming 2012 Thousands More Drivers May Be Able to Ride Solo in The HOV Without Getting a Ticket

Coming 2012 Thousands More Drivers May Be Able to Ride Solo in The HOV Without Getting a Ticket - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

In California disobeying  carpool rules and driving without a passenger when required can land you a hefty ticket!

California law does allow for you to ride alone in the carpool lane in certain instances, such as if you have a qualifying clean alternative fuel vehicle and the proper sticker for it. A new program is expected to begin January 1, 2012, pending federal approval. Only 40,000  decals will be available, will be issued first come first served, and will only be available to those who own or lease qualifying plug in hybrid vehicles .

If you are one of the lucky applicants who apply for the “Green Clean Air Vehicle Sticker” next year, and actually get one,  you will be able to drive in the carpool lane without a passenger and without getting a ticket. Do note that there are two major rules for the HOV lane use: you have to have a passenger and you can’t cross the double yellow lines into or out of it, and having the sticker only makes you exempt from the HOV  passenger rule and not exempt from the HOV double yellow rule.- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Fines for Speeders Increased While Safety Problems Caused by Speeders Decreased

by Steve Miller on 12-12-2011

Fines for Speeders Increased While Safety Problems Caused by Speeders Decreased - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

A Statewide traffic safety survey conducted by the CA Office of Traffic Safety showed that speeding drivers may be the cause of 17.6 % of the safety problems on CA highways (coming in third after texting and talking on the phone). This number has actually decreased from 21.5% in 2010. Possibly due to higher fines and threat of negligent operator points imposed in CA?

Per the CA Uniform Bail and Penalty Schedule, a speeding ticket for over 100 mph can be penalized with an $800+ fine (increased by $40 since 2010) and not one but two points added to your driving record. If you're caught speeding over the maximum speed of 65 mph you are looking at fines anywhere from$155 to $400 (increased by as much as $20 since 2010) depending on how fast you were going as well as a point on your record. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

by Steve Miller on 12-06-2011

Steps to Getting Your Suspended Driver’s License Back - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Driver License suspensions can range from 30 days to one year depending on the severity of the offense(s) leading to the suspension, but there are steps you can take on your own to get your license back.

If your license was suspended due to having too many points on your record you will most likely need to:

-          complete the probationary period  without getting any more tickets or getting in an accident

-          pay a fee to the DMV to have the license reissued

If your license was suspended due to a Failure to Pay a traffic ticket:

-          pay any and all outstanding fines to the court

-          pay a fee to the DMV to have the license reissued

If your license was suspended due to car accident while being uninsured:

-          complete  the suspension period  of one-year

-          show proof of car insurance

-          pay a fee to the DMV to have the license reissued

The Real Truth on Courtesy Notices

by Steve Miller on 11-30-2011

The Real Truth on Courtesy Notices- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The officer had you sign that ticket for a reason, that signature represents your agreement to take care of the ticket by the date listed there below your signature. But many people ignore this date and instead wait for a separate notice to be mailed to them directly by the courthouse listed on the ticket because the officer told them to wait for this or told them they would be receiving something in the mail.

The real truth of the matter?  The notice often sent by courts, called a “courtesy letter” or “courtesy notice”, is not mandatory. There is a misconception that the court is required to send you this courtesy notice. You must take care of the ticket by the due date whether or not you receive any notice from the court.  In fact if you flip it over and read the back of your ticket there is likely a caveat printed there stating: “A courtesy notice MAY be mailed to you…. if you do not receive such courtesy notice, you are still required to comply…” (emphasis added).

If you ignore the due date you face serious consequences such as being issued a Failure to Appear (FTA). FTA's  can lead to license suspension and if your license is suspended due to a FTA  you may be required to  pay your ticket, appear in court, and pay a re-issue fee to the Department of Motor Vehicles. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

What's The Deal With License Plate Blocker Spray - Is It Legal?

by Steve Miller on 11-14-2011

What's The Deal With License Plate Blocker Spray – Is it Legal? - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Ever been tempted to spray one of those products on your license plate (that's supposed to reflect the flash of a camera) to avoid getting caught by a red light camera ... Think again!

That's right it's actually illegal to do this in California. Although the vehicle code section 5201 does not specifically call out "license plate blocker spray" it does say that you cannot put ANY product that obstructs or impairs the reading (or recognition) of a license plate by an electronic device operated by law enforcement. License plate blocker spray certainly seems to fit the bill being it is a product that impairs the ability of say a red light camera, from being able to get a clear and recognizable image of your plate number.

A ticket for this will run you up $100 + but should not result in a point going on your record. In any event though, probably best to avoid altogether. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Radar Detectors vs. Jammers - Which is Ok and Which Isn't

by Steve Miller on 11-10-2011

Radar Detectors vs. Jammers - Which is Ok and Which Isn’t - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Radar Detectors while maybe frowned upon by police and courts alike are not illegal in California. In fact they are legal in most states with the exception of Virginia and Washington D.C. (as well as all Military Bases) to have in a passenger vehicle.  Radar detectors are however illegal in Commercial Vehicles weighing more than 10K lbs under Federal Law.

Radar JAMMERS on the other hand ARE illegal. Specifically Section 28150 of the California Vehicle Code says so and if you are caught with four or more in your vehicle you are guilty of a Misdemeanor! Serious Stuff.

Keep in mind the rules in California regarding mounted items on the center of your windshield. It’s not allowed! So while the radar detector itself may not be illegal having it mounted on the center of your windshield IS. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

TicketHitMan.com Wants To Help You Avoid the "Frightful" Consequences of Getting a Ticket

This Halloween TicketHitMan.com Wants To Help You Avoid the “Frightful” Consequences of Getting a Ticket - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

As we all know police are out in full enforcement on holidays. This Halloween TicketHitMan.com wants you to remember these points to help you avoid even getting a ticket in the first place:

  • If driving from house to house or to multiple events on Halloween night don’t forget to check your headlights each time you get back in the car! It’s easy to forget when there is a lot of activity going on and if you do forget you can get a ticket which could cost over $155, plus risk getting a point added to your record.
  • Costumes are a must for Halloween but if driving in your costume be sure any wig or glasses aren’t so big that they obstruct your view. If an officer sees you and feels you can’t drive safely because your view is obstructed, you can technically get a ticket for unsafe speed even if you are going the speed limit. The idea is that any speed would be unsafe under conditions where your vision is obstructed. Tickets for unsafe speed can be expensive and add points to your record.
  • Finally, watch out for “little monsters” crossing the road, a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian can affect your DMV record and cost you more than $150!

Changes to California Traffic Law will Increase Booster Seat Age from 6 to 8

Changes to California Traffic Law will Increase Booster Seat Age from 6 to 8  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

As many should know, currently under California Traffic law a child is only required to be in a booster seat until the age of 6 (or 60 pounds whichever comes first). What many may not know is that Governor Brown has signed a new stricter law to increase the minimum requirements.

The new law is to go in effect on January 1 and will require parents to transport   their children with a booster seat until that child is 8 years old (or at least 4 foot 9, whichever comes first).

Currently violations of the traffic law requiring booster seats until age 6 (or 60 pounds) yields a hefty fine of over $400.00 and threatens a point being added to your driving record.  - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Slow or Move Over for Highway Workers Campaign May be Over but you Can Still Get a Ticket

Slow  or Move Over for Highway Workers Campaign May be Over but you Can Still Get a Ticket this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The Statewide Safety Campaign which utilized electronic highway signs to display a message reminding drivers of the safety law requiring drivers to move over or slow down for highway workers may have ended but drivers should still be watchful for highway workers and move over if you see them to avoid getting a ticket.

The law also applies to emergency vehicles (police, fire, ambulance, etc) parked on the side of the road as well as tow trucks. Drivers should not make unsafe lane changes though or cut off other vehicles in order to change lanes so if you are unable to change lanes safely or are on a two lane highway, make sure you slow down to a safe and reasonable speed to avoid getting a ticket.

This law has been in effect for a few years now and thousands of tickets have been issued by CHP under this law.  If you get ticketed for this expect to be looking at a $150 + fine and a point going on your record if you just pay it.- this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

More or Less Warning Signs At Camera Enforced Locations

More or Less Warning Signs At Camera Enforced Locations this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

CA Senate Bill 29 (which passed the Senate early last month) seeks to make changes to the existing law for red light cameras. One of the changes relates to the number of warning signs that must posted at each camera enforced intersection.

Under current law, warning signs must be posted and visible to traffic approaching from all directions, or at all the main entrances to town including, at a minimum, freeways, bridges, and state highway routes (VC§ 21455.5(a) (1) ).

The new bill if passed into law would no longer require warning signs to be visible from traffic approaching from ALL directions and instead will only require the signs to be visible to traffic which could be affected or subject to the camera enforcement system. Opposers of this Bill see that this would allow for a reduction of warning signs and therefore would result in less notice to drivers.

Current law does not have any requirement as to how close to an intersection warning signs must be posted and in fact allows for signs to be posted at locations other then the intersection itself (ex: entrances to town) which often results in a lack of notice to drivers who would expect to see a warning sign right at the intersection or very near to. The new Bill if passed into law would require warning signs to be posted within 200 feet of a camera enforced intersection, a change welcomed by Supporters of this Bill. Keep watch for possible changes to camera enforcement laws. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

Big Traffic School Changes

Did you know that there have been recent changes to the rules for attending court ordered Traffic School to obtain a dismissal for convictions?

It’s true, back in July a new law went into effect essentially taking away any power the courts previously had to grant second level repeat offender traffic school in order to allow you to obtain a dismissal of a conviction. In fact, a traffic school completion under the new law will only allow for one conviction within an 18 month period to be held confidential so that it does not show on your driving record.

More information about this new law can be found on the California Department of Motor Vehicles Website and also the Superior Court of Los Angeles Traffic Division page. - this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

It is Possible to Beat Red Light Photo Citations

It is Possible to Beat Red Light Photo Citationsthis blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.

The practice of using Red light cameras to issue tickets by mail is fizzling out in different cities all over California.  However with many red light cameras operating still in various cities the likelihood of receiving at least one red light photo ticket (if not more than one) is great!

It is no longer just he - said - she - said between you and a police officer.  It is an automated machine that catches you in the act not a police officer and so you should know there are unique policies and regulations relating to red light photo ticket system.

There are laws for: how long the yellow lights can be at an intersections where there is a camera setup to take pictures and video of offending drivers (which makes sense because otherwise cities could shorten yellow lights in order to increase the number of persons that can’t stop in time for a red light thereby resulting in more tickets issued and more money for the city), for how long the police department or governmental agency can wait before mailing a red light photo ticket out to you (which makes sense because if they wait too long how are you going to remember what you were doing that day or if you lent your car to someone else), and there are even laws for whether not a driver has to be given proper warning that they are at or approaching an intersection that is set up with a camera (this makes sense because when you walk into a store that is taking surveillance aren’t there notices up that the premises are being recorded).

Red light photo citations can be approached from a more mechanical based angle and if the policies and mandatory regulations aren’t followed properly then it could be grounds to have your ticket dismissed. -  this blog was written by TicketHitMan.com, if you get a Ticket You Need to Hire a Hit Man, a TicketHitMan.
